3 Katyusha rockets were shot into Israel from Lebanon yesterday from a village 3 miles from Israel's border. It evidently was a revenge assassination firing by Hezbollah for their notorious Commander, Samir Kuntar, who was killed in an airstrike near Damascus. It was a plane that hit a residential building in the suburbs of Damascus, killing Kuntar, reported Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah leader. "

It was a plane that hit a residential building in the suburbs of Damascus, killing Kuntar, reported Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah leader. "
- Kuntar was sentenced to life in prison for killing three Israelis in 1979 but released in the high-profile 2008 swap. Kuntar served 30 years in an Israeli prison for murder before he was released in a prisoner swap between Israel and Hezbollah seven years ago.
- He had been a bloody killer even though he himself was 16 at the time. "Kuntar was convicted of a 1979 attack in which he shot and killed an Israeli man in front of his 4-year-old daughter, then smashed her head against a rock with his rifle butt, tossing her body into the sea. The victim's 2-year-old daughter was accidentally smothered by her mother, who tried to keep her quiet as they hid from the attackers who arrived in Israel from Lebanon by boat."
- Justice has been served, no matter who was flying the plane.
