Qaradawi, Theologian of Terror, Behind Muslim Brotherhood's Jerusalem Attacks

Nadene Goldfoot

The Muslim Brotherhood started the problems in Syria.  When Assad ordered his troops to attack his city of Hama in 1982, it was because it was the capital of the Muslim Brotherhood.  They had tried to assassinate him.  20,000 people were killed in that attack.  This came about because Assad is an Alawite, not a Sunni Muslim.  It's a branch of Islam.  When Assad became the president, the Muslim Brotherhood starting their planning of his overthrow.  On June 26, they had tried to assassinate him with hand grenades.  Assad suffered a foot injury, and Hama was the result.

Now that IS has come upon the scene of Sunni Islam, the Muslim Brotherhood is working on uniting all the Islamic movements around the idea of the Muslim Caliphate with the center being Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque.

It is Khaled Mashal of Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood member since 1971,  who is bringing in  the Palestinian issue to cause the Arabs to support the Muslim Brotherhood.  Mashal is living in Qatar, home of Qaradawi (b. 1926), the religious leader who wants to kill all Jews wherever they are.  He's best friends with Qatar's Emir.

Hamas's partner, Fatah, former PLO terrorists, was quick to glorify the terrorist who drove purposely  into the crowd in Jerusalem of people who just got off the train and killed a baby girl and a woman when he hit about 10 people. Fatah has the Silwan or Jerusalem branch, and they have glorified the driver as they always do to people who manage to kill Jews.

Unfortunately, the security situation in Jerusalem has not been good lately thanks to the Muslim Brotherhood.  During Operation Protective Edge, they raised the banner "The siege of Gaza" in trying to incite European Muslims to demonstrate in their streets against Israel.  In this they hope to raise that status of Islam.  Now they have a "Save Jerusalem" campaign in wanting ALL of Jerusalem for Muslims only, and this is because it is a Jewish city created by King David himself.  The commandment of not to covet other people's things is unknown to Muslims, evidently, or ignored as not applying to them..  They want to take what is dear to others.  For them, it gives them status if they can pull it off.  As for their weak point of Mohammad flying to Jerusalem on his flying horse to the farthest Mosque, it never mentions Jerusalem by name.  It's an allegory.  It's a tale of flying carpets and horses.  It was a dream.  It's not usable in taking a city belonging to Jews for the past 3,000 years plus historically, religiously, politically and by population.

Khaled Mashal published a note calling on his people to hurry now to DEFEND (translated as TO TAKE OVER) Jerusalaem and Al-Aqsa.  Al Aqsa is in the hands of Jordan.  Our general, Moshe Dayan saw to that at the end of 1967's war when Israel won.  He was foresighted enough to avoid more problems by allowing them to police the property of their mosque.  So, is the Muslims Brotherhood taking it  from Jordan?  And for why?  They have been piggish about who they allow to pray on their property, causing some Jews to be angry about not being able to pray on the land that held our Temple, which could be worked on later by peaceful leaders, but certainly not by the Muslim Brotherhood's instigations.

The Muslim Brotherhood is trying to take over all of Jerusalem.  Do you remember in your culture hearing "if you give them an inch they will take a foot?  It seems like the Brotherhood had high hopes with a part of Jerusalem being the capital of their Palestine, but were plotting and scheming to take over all of Jerusalem, something they never even had in 1948 when Jordan took east Jerusalem and Israel got it back in 1967 after being attacked.  .

This call comes from Al-Aqsa by sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi himself when he was in Cairo in February 2011.  when President Mubarak was ousted.  He called for Al-Aqsa's LIBERATION (take over).  Qaradawi, theologian of terror,  is the most evil of religious leaders that one can find.  It was he who said he'd kill Jews with his bare hands if he could.  The 88 year old is in a wheelchair, however, but is up to trying to kill a Jew.    The man is dangerous because he broadcasts weekly from Qatar to the whole world with his evil thoughts about Jews and Israel.  He had been ousted from Egypt for his radicalness, and taken in happily by Qatar.  Qaradawi put out a fatwa and told the Muslims it was their duty to DEFEND (take over) Jerusalem with their lives.  He would like to die a martyr.  That way he'll get his 72 virgins.  I would hope they'll all be  as old as he is.

A two-faced theologian, while he has condemned the murder of civilians in the 9/11 terror attack, he supports terrorist acts against Israel.  Qaradawi claimed that "such martyrdom operations should not be carried out outside of the Palestinian territories.  He justifies this by claiming that Israeli civilians do not exist because the Israeli government requires all citizens to serve in the army.  So children are fair game, too, to him.

"Mashal and Mousa Abu Marzuk were said to have accumulated vast personal wealth estimated at $2.5 billion each. Mashal was alleged to have appropriated, for himself and his confidantes, the entire Hamas "Syrian Fund" of hundreds of millions of US dollars upon leaving Damascus for an opulent lifestyle in Qatar in 2012."  They follow the footsteps of the PLO's Arafat who also managed to keep a fortune for himself.

The recent attack in Jerusalem against  the crowd of light rail riders who just got off the train  who were hit by a car on purpose killed a 3 month old American baby girl, Chaya,  immediately, and another of the 10 hit just died in the hospital. She was an Ecuadorian 20 year old.    That was a baby very much wanted by her parents who had waited a long time for her.

How Israel's Foreign Minister Views Hamas

Nadene Goldfoot

Avidor Lieberman, Foreign Minister for Israel, spoke on CNN's Fareed Zakaria's program this morning.  He explained that he was against the cease fire, but found he was a minority with this opinion in the Knesset.  He felt that Israel could finally wipe out Hamas and had the force to topple them at this time.

Born on June 5, 1958 in Russia, he immigrated to Israel 2 years before I did in 1978.  Being much younger and a male, he did his stint in the IDF.

Avidor explained that Hamas is a radical terrorist group.

He is 'bothered' that a terror group endured in battle against 'strongest army in Mideast.' One of many ways was in  their use of tunnels they had built and using them by popping out in Israel and taking lives is certainly a terrorist act.  Of course he neglects to say that Israel was following the rules of conduct in this fight by warning the civilians of their bombing way before the act, even though the terrorists saw to it that it was in vain and they fought by using this uncivilized tactic.  It is uncivilized to use your own people in gaining the advantage instead of trying to keep the civilians alive.  This fact alone prove they are a terrorist group.  Yet by doing this, they successfully deflected the blame of the deaths onto the Israelis who value all life, so no wonder he realizes that Hamas survived.

This differs from the UN opinion of them.  Avidor feels that they differ little from ISIS.

William Schabas, a Canadian-born professor of international law at Middlesex University in London feels that it would "inappropriate " to assert that Hamas is a terrorist organization.  He's also very much against Netanyahu, even though his father is Jewish and he sits on the advisory board of the Israel Law Review.  I personally find this opposition from young people striving to make a name for themselves so take opposing stands and then later on, as maturity and extensive reading and research sinks in, often change their views. This has happened with Israeli historian, Benny Morris.   That Schabas is part of the board goes towards Israel's open-mindedness and democratic principles.  William Schabas is a product of English thinking which has been against Jews for centuries and certainly was when they held the mandate in Palestine.

"In 2014 Schabas was appointed the head of UN Committee investigating the Israeli role in 2014 Israel–Gaza conflict. The move was criticized by Canada’s Foreign Minister John Baird  and Geneva based NGO UN Watch, due to previous records of Schabas' alleged anti-Israel bias, a charge that Schabas denies.  Schabas was born on November 19, 1950, so is 8 years older than Lieberman.

Avidor would like to see a more moderate Palestinian group taking over in Gaza.  He says that Hamas is radical in having a charter that says to wipe out Israel.  They have been firing rockets into Israel ever since they took over the power seat from Fatah and kicked Fatah into Judea and Samaria.

Abbas, born March 26, 1935, is older than either Lieberman or Schabas,  is threatening to sue Israel in the UN over crimes against humanity.  He has lost popularity.  They are no partner in peace for Israel with an attitude like this.  They had united several times with Hamas and their charter which is the same as the Muslim Brotherhood in regards to Israel.  Abbas is using his newly founded power in the UN now against Israel of an automatic majority.  He is making a new play to reassert his role and cast himself as the leader of all Palestinians by taking his cause to the UN.

The UN Human Rights Council already met last month and adopted a resolution against Israel with a vote of 29 to 1 with 17 abstentions and has moved to establish a commission of inquiry to investigate all violations of international humanitarian law in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.  The USA was the only country against this decision.

Netanyahu has pointed out that the report has already been written and  have decided that Hamas is not a terrorist organization.  He said they should really look at Damascus, Baghdad and Tripoli and go see ISIS, the Syrian army and Hamas.  They'll find their war crimes in these places but not in Israel.  This probe is just like what happened in 2009 and the Goldstone Report which Israel had rejected as being it was inaccurate and biased.  Goldstone even retracted that report but the die was already cast against Israel's reputation.

Hamas's charter, which is also adopted by the unification of Fatah and Hamas, says,
1. “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will
obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it”
(The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).
These are the words of terrorists.

2. Our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious.

It needs all sincere efforts.
Note, this is a religious terrorist war, like ISIS is bringing on the rest of the world.

3. The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinguished
Palestinian movement, whose allegiance is to Allah, and whose
way of life is Islam. It strives to raise the banner of Allah
over every inch of Palestine,
The Muslim Brotherhood and ISIS also share this goal.

Cairo, Egypt's News Today-Hit al Qaida Hard

Nadene Goldfoot

Egypt has not slept.  Al-Qaida was surprised today when their Chief, Ayman al-Zawahri found out his brother was arrested today in Cairo.  Mohammed al-Zawahri b: 1953, a Jehadi Salafist, who are even more extreme than the Muslim Brotherhood, if that is possible, was detained in Gaza which is right across the Nile River from Cairo.  He had spent time in prison from 2000 to 17 March 2011 and then was re-arrested soon after.

173 people were killed yesterday.  The Muslim Brotherhood rebels held up in the downtown Cairo Mosque. People had ignored the 7pm curfew and kept battling.

Protesters find themselves in a crossfire.  The Four Seasons Hotel was the scene of a gunfight right at the doorway  with opposing sides who were wielding guns and machetes.  There are plain old criminals roaming the streets.  One cannot tell who is friend or who is foe, depending on what side you are on.

Two days ago the police had moved thousands of protesters from sit ins supporting Morsi and wound up killing about 200 to do so.  Egypt is the 5th most populous Muslim country  in the Middle East with about 91 million people.  That's not counting the Syrian refugees that took refuge there.  The military-government issued a statement saying that they, the police and the people were together in the face of the treacherous terrorist scheme against Egypt.  They had promised to restore order and security but the Brotherhood isn't letting it happen.  Two policemen have been killed.  One of the Muslim Brotherhood members killed was 30 year old Dr. Khaled el-Banna, the grandson of the Brotherhood's founder, Hassan el-Banna who was shot almost in the same locale in 1949.  This was at Ramses Square where much of the rebellion was going on.

There have been marches where one could see guns in the hands of civilians on both sides.  One Morsi supporter held a machine gun near the hotel.  Other civilians threw rocks or held sticks while police fired.  .

A coalition of Morsi supporters say they will continue demonstrating for this coming week. " The coalition says that they won't back down until it topples the government installed by the military."

Looking back in better days, there was a bus from Cairo to Jerusalem that started in 2008.  They had 3 busses going; one that left at 6am, one at 9:30am and the last at 10:15pm.  A person just bought his ticket a day in advance.  The same was repeated from Jerusalem.  I'm sure that isn't happening today, and of course all tourism is hurt with the rebellion going on.   Maybe someday again all will be quiet and it can again be a great tourist spot.

Too Much Trust in The Free Syrian Army Rebels And Why

Nadene Goldfoot
The Free Syrian Army is commanded by General Salim Idris.  This group much history in engaging in joint operations with the Al-Nusra Front which is better known as the Syrian branch of Al Qaeda in Iraq.  Gerneral Idris disavowed the Al-Nusra Front in order to get American military assistance. He denied that the Front was a terrorist group and tried to stop the Americans from blacklisting it.  If he thinks they're kosher, he will go on collaborating with them.  Last October these two groups seized a Scud missile base together.

The Free Syrian Army isn't much better than the Syrian National Council which is already controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood.  Nowhere in rebel-controlled Syria is there a secular fighting force.  The Islamist brigades like the Muslim Brotherhood's Tawheed Brigade and the Islamist Farouk Brigades are the strong leaders of the Free Syrian Army.  It was the Farouk commander who was seen on video eating a Syrian soldier's lungs.  This goes along with what I saw on Syrian TV between 1980-85 in a demonstration of Syrian strength which was meant to scare the beejeebees out of their enemies.  It scared me plenty.

Everyone in the area of fighting the Syrian government seems to already be members of the Muslim Brotherhood.  Idris's 2 deputies, Abdelbasset Tawil of Idleb  has ties to a Salafist Jihadist group, Ahrar al-Sham.  Their goal is to create an Islamic state in Syria.

It is known that fighters and commanders routinely go from one brigade to another.  They have loosse affiliations of militias and are held together by fundraising and ideology.  YouTube videos mark their celebrations of kills and is the way they raise money.  Militias fight among themselves over control of assets like bakeries and oil wells.

Americans are questioning whether we are going from declaring war on Islamic terrorism to arming Islamic terrorists by  John McCain's trip to Syria where he met with General Salim Idris.  McCain is pushing for the USA to have a no-fly zone and to arm these Syrian Sunni rebels with heavy weaponry.  Every time I hear things like this I think that they will soon be used against Israel as they'll get into those hands that would love to attack Israel.  John is confident that the weapons from the USA would go to the "right" hands.  John is snowed enough to say that the rebels are not al Qaida and are not extremists.  He says that al Qaeda only makes up a small percentage of all the rebels.

Right now, only food and aid are going in to displaced people.  The rebels are holding Qusayr after 3 weeks of battle.  They are not going to allow the Red Cross into the city until the battle is over.  The rebels are fighting against Hezbollah terrorists who are allies with the Syrian government.

Assad's government has been terrible.  He has ruled like Czar.  The question is, given the Muslim Brotherhoods' influence, are the rebels any better?  Is this a step up or a step down.  Now Syria is under control of Iran and Iran answers to Russia.  Syria is receiving all sorts of weapons that will ultimately, give them a day or two, be used against Israel, for that is Iran's ultimate goal.  Well meaning Syrians have had to escape the madness and find themselves in refugee camps or other points of refuge.  What sort of government awaits them if they ever find they can return to their deserted homes.

With Israel caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, they would prefer al-Qaeda, says the website algemeister.  That shows you how bad Assad has become.

Our Nemesis: Qaradawi

Nadene Goldfoot

86 year old Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a radical Muslim Brotherhood  religious leader, who is the world's leading Islamic scholar, arrived in the Gaza Strip recently to show his support for Hamas terrorists who aim to destroy Israel.  This hate-filled leader came as the leader of a delegation of 50 senior Islamics from 14 countries in order to urge Palestinians to continue the struggle against Israel.  Being he is the head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, he has power and influence.

One of his directions to Hamas  with its 1.5 million Gazan population was to not give up one inch of land to the Jews.  There is to be no concession on their demand of their "right of return" of millions of Palestinians to their pre-1948 villages and towns inside Israel."  This tiny state of Israel has 6 million Jews and 1.7 million Arabs.  It was created by Jews for Jews and is their refuge.  Being that there are  48 Muslim majority states or countries in the world already, Palestine would be the 49th.  It not only would be majority Muslim but is to be 100% Muslim.  They have no intentions of allowing Jews into their state.

He still insists that "Palestine" was never Jewish!  Evidently he refuses to read history books.  The Muslim Brotherhood should be embarrassed with this denial, as bad as Ahmadinejad saying that their was never a Holocaust in which the Nazis had killed 6 million Jews!  His denial of our history of almost 3,000 years of Jewish life before Mohammad was even born is ridiculous.  Obviously he's not about to talk about King Solomon who was so wise that the whole world had heard of him, even the Queen of Sheba.

So he preached to the gullible Hamas terrorists that "Palestine" has always been Arab and Islamic.  Always Islamic.  Amazing since Mohammad was born in 570 CE and died in 632 CE.  Jews go back to Moses who died in 1271 BCE when he commanded Joshua to enter Canaan and lead the Israelites into the land.  Jews eventually got around to accepting the idea of having a king and chose Saul, and then King David followed from 1010 BCE to 970 BCE and his son Solomon from 961 BCE to 920 BCE, and set up the monarchy of kings in the Empire of Israel and  then in the Empire of Judea.  Jews were overtaken in 70 CE when Jerusalem fell, but not all left.  However, all this history seems to be either unknown to these uneducated killers or ignored and denied outwardly.

Getting down to facts, Qaradawi is not too happy with Abbas ever sitting down to talk peace with Israel.  He's always pushing for jihad as the only tool to get what they want.  The Palestinians seem to be brainwashed into wanting to destroy Israel.  They love to hear his anti-Semitic remarks, so turned out to meet him by the thousands.  His banter is to speak of Israelis as "treacherous aggressors."  In 2009, one of his sermons was that "Allah, take this oppressive Jewish Zionist band of people.  Oh Allah, do not spare a single one of them.   Oh Allah, count their numbers and kill them, down to the very last one!"

At the same time, John Kerry, US Secretary of State was talking to the Israelis and Palestinians with opposing goals than the Egyptian-born Qaradawi.

Qaradawi was expelled from Egypt by Sadat for his extremism.  He found comfort living in Qatar, and from there espouses his hatred for Jews on al-Jazeera TV.  He has the run of Qatar pretty much, being best friends with the government.  The USA will not allow him in the country but Britain says he is a "moderate" and allows him in.  To me, that is a political and business decision being so many Muslims live in England already.  It was not an ethical decision.

Qaradawi is known for justifying suicide bombings against Israeli civilians and other such forms of death for them.  He has said that he himself would strangle Jews if he could, but he is crippled and stays in his wheel chair most of the time.  He has put out a fatwa  telling his congregants to kill Jews.

This is not the usual conflict over land that one sees on the surface.  Down deep this is a religious conflict of the goals of Islam versus the survival of the parent religion, Judaism.  This is unfortunate, because it is extremism in Islam that has taken over a lovely religion brought to Arabs, the children of Ishmael and Esau who had left the house of Abraham so long ago.  Originally Mohammad wanted his people to also hear and follow what was in the books of Jews and Christians and he used his own words to bring it to them, but somehow along the way, jealousy crept into the message which is being used today.  Any Islamic preacher bringing a message that differs from Qaradawi is under threats.

The message seems to be making the rounds, as I just heard that someone has been receiving death threats for being Jewish.  Are we back to the 1930's?  Are more tolerant Muslims going to allow such an attitude that Abraham, 4,000 years ago tried to end?  For he did not only teach us that there was one G-d instead of the multitude people believed in that caused all such demonic acts as human sacrifice and such.  His teaching brought on Moses, who gave us the recipe for decent living that Mohammad admired so much, calling Jews and Christians, "People of the Book."  We were not to be killed because of that.   Why is religion in our life, in our DNA to find and to question about morality if not to have a world of peace for one and all?

Qaradawi is the "Joker" but  who is Batman?  Who is brave enough to counter this evil message in the world which has created such non-thinking robots-ready to carry out his orders?

Muslim Brotherhood and Pharaoh Mohammed Morsi

Nadene Goldfoot
Yesterday while we Americans were eating our Thanksgiving dinner, the top leader of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood denounced Morsi's peace efforts and urged a holy war to "liberate" Palestinian territories, which means all of Israel.

Old Mohammed Badei, General Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood,  thinks Israel knows nothing but force, but that is the only deterrent that seems to stop such a group as the Muslim Brotherhood; that and baksheesh  or money.    He's all for Jihad and said it's an obligation.  All Muslims are to "back their brothers in Palestine and supply them."

That is exactly what Iran keeps on doing.  An Iranian 150 ton freighter named "Cargo Star" left Bandar Abbas port on Sunday, November 18th with a load of 220 short-range missiles and 50 improved long-range Fajar-5 rockets for Gaza.  These Fajars are newer with longer range capabilities than what was recently used.  they have a 200-kilo warhead and the others were 175 kilos.  It is 85 km or about 53 miles from Gaza to Tel Aviv.

Iran is adamant about the fact that they are bankrolling Palestinian terrorists and will not be letting Morsi be a moderate.  This of course would be running contrary to Tehran's plans and interests of destroying Israel.

Morsi, however, says he will abide by Egypt's 1979 treaty with Israel that Mubarak was following, established by Sadat.  He has quite a challenge of restoring order, solving crises that come up, and restraining the radicals he had helped to brain wash.  He just gave himself greater authority Thursday by neutralizing a judicial system by declaring that the courts are barred from challenging his decisions.  That's helpful.  The public might become very angry over this move, though.  It's not democratic of him.  He says it is necessary to protect the revolution that toppled Mubarak 2 years ago and to become democratic.  The pro-reform leader, Mohamed El Baradei wrote on  Twitter,  "Morsi today usurped all state powers & appointed himself Egypt's new pharaoh."  Mass protests have been called for to dissolve his declarations.

How Are Egypt and Israel Getting Along During This Rioting?

Nadene Goldfoot
At least Mubarak was continuing the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel, something Sadat previously had established.  Israelis were even tourists happy to see Egypt for the first time.  I missed the chance of doing so in 1981 and opted to study for my year end exam in Hebrew instead during my Spring break.  Today, I wouldn't do it out of fear for my life.

So what's going on now that Morsi, a Muslim Brotherhood Makha, is at the helm?  I found out that as far back as 2007 when Condoleeza Rice was Secretary of State, the USA had the US Army Corps of Engineers in Egypt making plans to improve the security on the border.  The USA has a $23 million dollar project which has seismic sensors there to alert others about invaders through tunnels, etc.  They have another $50 million dollar project to promote development in the region as they feel it takes more than alarms to secure the region.  So America has invested money into Egypt to keep the peace through both Bush and Obama.

Now, just since August 11, we have brought in 700 American soldiers in the region.  16 Egyptian soldiers were killed by 35 masked gunmen in the Sinai. Then they "barreled" into Israel in a truck they stole and an armored vehicle.   Egypt has been getting $1.5 billion per year in arms and military assistance, but it didn't keep out the terrorists on the border.  Morsi must now realize that it's to both Israel and Egypt's good to keep out terrorism.  The question is whether or not Israel will make be forced to make concessions in modifying a 33 year old peace treaty to allow for a more "aggressive Egyptian military presence."  Israelis see Morsi as one who supports the international system of states.  There are people in Egypt who are tying to challenge this.  Since Morsi is a head Muslim Brotherhood person, and this group is all for jihad, I see it is causing difficulties for him to make a decision as to which path to take.

An APC or armoured personnel carrier

Egypt needs to become sharper and more efficient concerning terrorism. Morsi traveled to the Sinai with his defense minister, intelligence chief and interior minister.  They blame militants in Sinai who were aided by Palestinians in Gaza.  Here again, is the wrench in the works.  The Muslim Brotherhood said in a statement on the Web that Israel had sought to "thwart Egypt's revolution and could be responsible for the attack and that the attack highlighted the need to reconsider the peace treaty with Israel which restricts the number of troops Egypt can station in Sinai.

Israel shut down Kerem Shalom, the one commercial crossing into Gaza.  Egypt closed Rafah where goods and people pass through.  Hamas blocked the tunnels which everything goes through that are smuggled out of Egypt.  The Gazans wound up in long lines to load up on gas and food out of fear of higher prices.

Since then we have had the explosion of anti-American riots where Egypt's American Embassy was the first to be hit.  The security forces did not stop the American flag from being taken down from the outer wall and replaced with a Muslim one.  Somebody there has a talent for scaling walls.  This rioting has spread to over 20 other Muslim countries with religious leaders egging the masses on.

There are foreign peacekeepers in the Sinai today made up from a Multinational Force and Observers base who were just attacked by armed Islamist militants out of the latest protests sweeping the Muslim world.  They threw hand grenades and fired rocket-propelled grenades and had entered the peacekeepers camp and of course raised a black Islamist flag.  5 officers were wounded; 2 Egyptian military officers, 2 Colombians and a British fire chief.  Americans were also there. and they were all part of the 1979 peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.  This happened on Friday at 4:30 Cairo time on September 14, 2012.  Militant had set tires on fire outside the base.  The wounded were evacuated to Israel.  American and fijian troops are now responsible for securing the camp.

What did the Egyptian military do about it?  They sent 4 armored personnel carriers there and sent reinforcements 2 hours later.  They have 12 Egyptian military APCs surrounding the base.  Base officers think local tribal elders were at the base convincing attackers to retreat before the Egyptian military arrived.

Egypt: Life Before the Muslim Brotherhood

Nadene Goldfoot
Egypt was a secularist state in the 1920's. They received their independence from Great Britain on February 28, 1922.   They were in the majority, but existed without any such organization like the Muslim Brotherhood had started simply because they were the majority in their outlook about religion.  Some were even agnostics and didn't care about Islam or any other religion.  They believed in the separation of religion and state and they believed in the freedom of religion within the state.  What happened?

So far, they weren't different in their philosophy of the United States.  They were people that believed in the importance of Islamic culture.  Even the Christian Copts didn't disagree with this.   Islam was identified with all aspects of their life.  Atheists said they were also Muslims, just like they said they were Egyptians.  All shades of believers cooperated with each other.  Secularists could ignore Islam, practice it privately in their own homes, but no one believed in imposing it on the nation of Egypt. Omar Sharif was a well known movie actor who starred with Barbara Streisand once. He was a Christian Lebanese-Syrian who was born in Alexandria and remained an Egyptian. Of course he had a major role in "Lawrence of Arabia."

One well known secularist living between the World Wars I and II was Taha Husayn b: 1889).  He was a blind genius, educator and humanitarian educated at Azhar and France.  He rejected religious fundamentalism and the colonialists (British) desire to dominate the Middle East.  He returned from France to Egypt in 1919, advocating the use of critical methods in research and had a love of Western thought.  He became a threat and was soon branded as a heretic, since he advocated liking the civilization of Europe.

Another secularist was Ali Abd al-Raziq (b: 1888-d: 1966).  The 1920's found Islamic world  in an uproar because the Turks had exiled the Ottoman sultan and abolished the caliphate.  He thought the caliphate had been harmful for them and claimed that Muhammad was not into creating government, but had started an ummah (community).  He stated that Mohammed was a prophet, not a political leader and that different governments weren't a concern of G-d.  Governments should be judged by human reason, so that it wasn't necessary for all Muslims to be members of one state, have the same government or ruled by one caliph.

Through world War II, Egyptians had little political independence.  They thought only about loyalty to Egypt or to Islam or to both.  They weren't Arabs and didn't pay attention to events concerning them.  By 1936 the Anglo-Egyptian treaty was signed, but 3 years later found the British still occupying Egypt.  WWII started in September which caused more troops to enter, and yet Egypt wouldn't declare war on the axis, Germany because they thought Germany would win the war.  So in 1942 the British surrounded the royal Abdin Palace in Cairo with tanks and King Faruq was given the ultimatum to either appoint Nahhas Pasha as prime minister  or leave the country.  He agreed and they cooperated with the British.  There was a lot of corruption in their government.  The German General Rommel was defeated and Americans landed in North Africa.  Today Egypt has 82.2 million people. 90% are Sunni Muslims following Shafi'i fiqh and Islam is the state religion.

Israel was re-born May 14, 1948 and the very next day, 6 neighboring Muslim states attacked her:  Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Syria.  Israel only had a population of 650,000 and were up against states totaling 40,000,000, which was like a miracle to the Jews.  Jews were fighting for their very existence.  The Arabs felt differently about the whole thing.  The Arabs point out that they had entered the fight with only 70,000 soldiers of which only 10,000 had any good training.  Israel, just a day old, had 60,000 of the Haganah, they figured including 300 British trained officers and 20,000 veterans of WWII and 3,000 Palmach commandos.  The war stopped on February 24, 1949 with 2 cease fires.

Israel did have problems with Egypt after this.  Egypt continued to be belligerent with Israel after an armistice agreement was signed.  They closed the Suez Canal to Israeli shipping.  On August 9, 1949, the UN Mixed Armistice Commission upheld Israel's complaint that Egypt was illegally blocking the canal.  Ralph Bunche, UN negotiator stated that there was to be free movement.  By September 1, 1951 Egypt was ordered to open the Canal to Israeli shipping.  Egypt refused.  By early 1954, Egypt's Foreign Minister, Muhammad Salah al-Din said that "The Arab people will not be embarrassed to declare:  We shall not be satisfied except by the final obliteration of Israel from the map of the Middle East." President Gamal Abdel Nasser imported arms from the Soviets for a confrontation with Israel.  He announced on August 31, 1955, "Egypt has decided to dispatch her heroes, the disciples of Pharaoh and the sons of Islam, and they will cleanse the land of Palestine....There will be no peace on Israel's border because we demand vengeance, and vengeance is Israel's death."

The heroes turned out to be Arab terrorists, or fedayeen, who were on the border and sometimes infiltrated into Israel and committed acts of sabotage and murder.  These attacks were a violation of the armistice agreement provision that prohibited this.  Escalation continued with the blockade of the Straits of Tehran, and Nasser nationalized it in July of 1956.  Nasser said, " I am not solely fighting against Israel itself.  My task is to deliver the Arab world from destruction through Israel's intrigue, which has its roots abroad.  Our hatred is very strong.  There is no sense in talking about peace with Israel.  There is not even the smallest place for negotiations."

Not even 2 weeks went by and on October 25, Egypt signed an agreement with Syria and Jordan with Nasser in command.  Israel, backed by Britain and France, attacked Egypt on October 29, 1956.

Egypt didn't give up hope of smashing Israel.  Nasser continued to make speeches threatening war.  Terrorist attacks were happening more frequently.  By May 15, 1967, Israel's Independence Day, Egyptian troops moved into the Sinai massing near Israel's border.  In 3 days the Syrian troops were ready to fight along the Golan Heights.  Nasser told the UN force to leave and they scuttled away.  On May 22nd Egypt closed the Straits of Tiran to all Israeli shipping.  Nasser challenged Israel to fight almost daily.  "Our basic objective will be the destruction of Israel.  The Arab people want to fight..We will not accept any...coexistence with Israel.  Today the issue is not the establishment of peace between the Arab states and Israel...The war with Israel is in effect since 1948."  Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon sat on the border with Israel while Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Sudan and the whole Arab nation backed them up. The war started June 5 and ended June 10, 1967.     In SIX (6) days, Israel won against 250,000 troops, more than 2,000 tanks and 700 aircraft had ringed Israel.  Though Israel won the battle, 777 of their men were killed and 2,586 wounded.  This is the same proportion as the US lost in 8 years of fighting in Vietnam.

Still, on July 1, 1967 Egypt began shelling Israeli positions near the Suez Canal and on October 21, 1967, Egypt sank the Israeli destroyer, Eilat and killed 47.  Less than one year later they shelled Israeli positions along the Suez Canal.  A War of Attrition went on for 16 months with Israel's deaths of 600 soldiers and 127 civilians.  2,000 soldiers were wounded and 700 civilians were wounded.  Israel also lost 15 airplanes.

October 6, 1973 on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year for Jews, when most were attending synagogues asking G-d for forgiveness for their sins, Egypt and Syria attacked Israel.  At least 9 Arab states, including 4 non-Middle Eastern nations, actively aided the Egyptian-Syrian war with men and money.  It looked like the Arabs might win, so nobody tried to stop it like the Soviet Union or the UN.  Israel won again, and it ended on October 25, 1973 and this ended with Sadat visiting Jerusalem on November 29, 1977 for 36 hours, but being assassinated later on October 6, 1981.  He had signed a peace treaty with Israel on March 26, 1979.  Israel has about 7.5 million people, of which 1.4 million are Muslims.

Islam has become the state religion. Mohammed Morsi, of the Muslim Brotherhood has been voted in as President in the state's first experience at democracy on June 24, 2012.    The question we wonder about is if he will keep the peace treaty.  He plans to visit Iran in a few days, Israel's nemesis.

The Muslim Brotherhood rose because of the colonial occupation by the British.  Devout Muslims felt humiliated to be ruled by Christians.  Another reason was that the Egyptian educated and middle classes had become so secularized so fast, causing the deterioration of Muslim laws (Sharia) and institutions.  Turkey was also another cause, which Egyptians saw in their alterations a de-Islamization there as well.  When the caliphate was abolished, it was like the end of the world to the religious Egyptians.

Militant Muslims were religious people of the fundamentalist Wahhabis of Arabia and the militant Jamal al-Din al-Afghani.  The Muslim Brotherhood, al-Ikhwan al-Muslimin, organized between the 2 wars,  was the largest and most influential of the militant groups.  It had a military zeal and organization similar to a medieval Ismai'li group called the Brethren of Sincerity.  They copied another aIsmai'li organization, the Assassins in its militancy and methods.

Now their charter sounds like all the rhetoric that Egypt had proclaimed and that Iran is now copying.  They had been kept out of politics by Anwar Sadat and Hosni Mubarak in Egypt because they were so extreme.  With the uprising of the Arab Spring, Mubarak was jailed in February 2011.  There is no parliament, no constitution and no restrictions on presidential powers in Egypt right now.

Clinton's Greeting in the Middle East

Nadene Goldfoot
Egypt's military head, field Marshal Hussein Tantawi warned today  after Hillary Clinton left that he won't let the Muslim Brotherhood dominate Egypt, even though Hillary  had advised him to work with Egypt's elected Islamist leaders, so he wasn't very happy with her suggestions. He stated that "Egypt will never fall.  It belongs to all Egyptians and not to a certain group--the armed forces will not allow it."  The military has cut Morsi's powers and has taken over the job of writing a new constitution.

Egypt itself wasn't happy with her either,  boys holding placards showed they hated Israel just a little more than they hated her.  Her motorcade was hit with shoes, tomatoes and a few water bottles.  The people called out "Monika, Monika, remembering her husband's affair just to irk her.

While Egypt's liberals were for the Arab Spring, the liberals and Christians are now accusing Clinton and Obama with forcing the Muslim Brotherhood down Egypt's throat to curry favor with the Islamists.

With that greeting behind her,  Hillary then met with Prime Minister Binyamim Netanyahu in Jerusalem on the last leg of her trip abroad.  She was there to talk about Iran's nuclear power and the stalled peace process with Hamas and Fatah.

As usual, southern Israel at that moment was hit with a rocket at around 9:30pm.  An Israel News Daily article explained what happens is that first the scream of the Color Red rocket alert sounds.  15 seconds later a rocket explodes.  This time it was a short-range Qassam and it exploded somewhere in the western Negev.  Security personel have to go out to locate the site where it exploded.  Israelis must stay in their shelters for 10 minutes after its impact to make sure it's not being followed immediately by another which can happen.

An hour later, another attack did come, this time against the nearby city of Sderot, which is the closest to the Gaza Strip.  This rocket exploded in a field on the outskirts of the city.  Hillary should visit the southern part just to see what it's like and what the population endures from the terrorists.

Abbas's Green Light for Terrorists

Nadene Goldfoot
I've always thought that that it was beshert that Fatah and Hamas could not agree on ruling in Gaza as both want the power. Both have security forces and would have to merge them, another problem.   David Meir-Levi gives us an update as to what is happening with all of Israel's neighbors and what they are doing.  It's quite alarming.  I'll just remark on Hamas and Fatah.  Be sure to read his insight.

Abbas's Fatah group who live in  Judea-Samaria or West Bank, formerly the PLO of Arafat's years, had been cooperating with Israel for the past 6 years fairly well, but now that they are talking about melding in with the terrorists of Hamas, are going bonkers.  Their PA police have decided not to cooperate and work with the IDF to prevent terrorism.  They are not arresting known terrorists there anymore.  Abbas has even resurrected "Arafat's old Palestinian revolving door policy for jailed terrorists"  Naturally, terrorists see this as the nod to resume their terrorism against Israel.

Abbas has been ruling illegally for 3 years with a term that expired in January 2009.  Arafat pulled the same trick.  He ruled unconstitutionally from 2000 to 2004 when he died from AIDS.  He calls himself a president, but acts like a tyrant in this way.

Abbas and Mesha'al met last year and again last week on the 2nd of May.  They seems to only connect when plotting to attack Israel, so that's what they may have been doing.  What a reason to unify!  Death of their neighbors.

Hamas, who had kicked Abbas out of Gaza in 2006, has refused to go along with Iran and support Bashar al-Assad of Syria and to not cooperate with their Muslim Brotherhood in Syria. This made Iran angry and they cut back on funding Hamas.  Hamas has also been losing their clout with other terrorists who are doing their own thing and not taking Hamas's orders. For instance, they have new mobile self-propelled rocket launchers smuggled in from Libya that they use against Israel.

Israel finds that  Fatah and Hamas are only two of many groups to cause concern lately.  The whole neighborhood is about to catch on fire, it seems.  This has caused Israel to raise their level of terror alerts and as usual, are prepared to protect their citizens from attack wherever it may come from.  We're all praying that it does not turn into a horrible nuclear war.  The Winds of War are starting to blow again, and I think the Arab Spring was the start of it all.  .

Muslim Brotherhood Instigating End of Peace: Israel and Jordan

Nadene Goldfoot
The Muslim Brotherhood is carrying out it's goals from their charter.  They are disrupting the peace between the Hashemite kingdom of Jordan and Israel.  On Friday they organized a rally to end the July 1994 peace treaty  that was signed by Shimon Peres and Jordan's PM, Abdelsalam al-Majali.  They now want to kick out Israel's ambassador.

Getting to that peace treaty cost the USA 18.3 billion dollars which Abdelsalam declared was to bring an end to the age of wars and Peres had declared that the moment of peace had arrived.  Even Egypt had welcomed the agreement and Syria just played it cool by ignoring it.  As part of the agreement, Israel established a modern medical center in Amman.

The Hezbollah of Lebanon obviously was unhappy about it and showed their anger by launching mortar and rocket attacks into the northern Galilee towns where I used to live just 20 minutes before the ceremony.  This had been a historical event of Israel;  signing a 2nd peace treaty with an Arab state.

Then they were able to open their borders by  building several border-crossings for tourists, merchants and workers to travel between.  Israeli tourists visited Jordan, enjoying Petra, a stone-carved Nabatean city which is famous.

Jordanians had been coming into Israel to work daily.  Since 1967, when Jordan attacked Israel along with all their friends and lost, resulting in losing the "West Bank" which they had held illegally since 1948, Israel maintained an OPEN BRIDGES policy with Jordan.  This allowed Arabs from Judea and Samaria to travel to neighboring Arab countries and continue to maintain family ties and for business and education.  Arabs from the West Bank were allowed since 1971 to visit Israel without permits.  Israel encouraged coexistence.

It hadn't been easy because between June 1967 and September 1970 the Jordanian army and Palestinian terrorists worked together to harass Israel.  They shelled Israeli villages in the Jordan Valley and terrorist groups were infiltrating and attacking Israelis.

In September 1970 Civil War occurred in Jordan when the Jordanian army crushed the Palestinian terrorist organization.  Jordan wound up becoming populated by many Palestinians with the King marrying one. They had their BLACK SEPTEMBER when the PLO  threatened to overthrow King Hussein.  Almost 3,400 Palestinians were killed  between the 16th and the 26th, 1970.  PLO members actually fled across the border to surrender to Israeli troops instead of Hussein's army.

Many feel that Jordan is Palestine being so many live there.  King Husayn had said that "there should be the separation of the West Bank from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.  Likud, a major political party in Israel has said over and over that Jordan is Palestine.

The rallies were in 7 cities where people burned Israeli and American flags and chanted, "death, death to Israel," and "the people want an end to Wadi Araba which is the Jordan-Israel peace treaty.

The Westernized King Abdullah II had recently appointed Fayez Tarrawneh as prime minister who was a man who served in this capacity briefly in the late 1990s and was a key figure in making peace with Israel.  He is a man who would still support the 1994 treaty and the people are rebelling now with the teachings  of the Muslim Brotherhood.

They are saying that this rational man is not respecting the Jordanian's wish to end all peace, calls the Muslim Brotherhood, a group our government mistakenly thinks is "moderate,"  This should be proof that they are radical and dangerous.

The Brotherhood's propaganda is that Israel has not followed through with obligations under the treaty like in water sharing.  They're noting Amman's custodianship over holy sites in Jerusalem and access to the Palestinian territories, meaning Jordanians wanting to gain free access into Judea, Samaria, maybe parts of the Golan and East Jerusalem.

Jordan, with  a population of 5,568,565 people of which 95% are Sunni Muslims, hopefully has strong leaders that can squelch such war mongers that are trying to end an 18 year old peace treaty.  The Muslim Brotherhood is doing the very same thing in Egypt by having Mubakak jailed after he and Sadat had kept them down and illegal.  Can people still say that they are moderate and harmless now?

Muslim Brotherhood Goals
Nadene Goldfoot
Jihad is the Way by Mustafa Mashur, a former Muslim Brotherhood leader,  has been translated to tell us its ideology.  The Brotherhood says that Jihad should be waged against the "thieving gangs of Zion."  Mashur was the official leader of the Muslim Brotherhood from 1996 until he died in 2002.  I have a feeling that Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi, formerly of Egypt and now from Qatar might be today's leader.

Last week the Muslim Brotherhood party that won 40% of the votes last week stands for "Freedom and Justice" party.  The Salafists, another Islamist party, won 20%, so the Muslim fundamentalists have a sound majority of votes now.

The book goes on to say that "the problems of the Islamic world, such as Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Eritrea, and the Philippines, are problems of Islam and the Muslims, and they can be resolved neither by negotiation nor by recognizing the enemy's right to the Islamic land he stole.  Rather, the option is Jihad for Allah, and this is why Jihad is the way."

The Muslim world still does not want to accept the fact that Israel was created legally in the world in 1948 through the U.N., as well as the fact that people living there bought the land legally according to Ottoman Empire law as well from landowners.  Muslims came to this conclustion in 1967 after Israel won a war against all the Arab states who banned together to wipe her out, and lost.  Israel, as if by a miracle, had won against all odds against their massed force.  It was something the Muslims never expected to happen.

President Obama was never nervous about the party taking over, even being they are so well organized.  His administration has made recent overtures to them, such as opening up a dialogue.  Previously, it was considered a shunned terrorist party by Bush.

The author advised every Muslim, "Prepare yourself and train in the art of warfare.  You must learn the ways and manners and laws of war.  You must learn and embrace them and adhere to them, so that your Jihad will be the one accepted by Allah.  Not surprisingly, Mashur presched war against Israel.  "Honorable brothers have achieved Shahada (Martyrdom) on the soil of beloved Palestine during the years of 1947 and 1948 in their Jihad against the criminal, thieving gangs of Zion."

Following in his steps is Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi with his fatwa against all Jews which is to kill us all.    He lashed out in a sermon on January 9, 2009 calling on G-d to "kill them, down to the very last one."

My question is how do our leaders deal with such people who have a one tract mind and refuse to face facts?  They live in denial.  They would rather die and inherit their 72 virgins than live in a peaceful world in which Jews are back to their original home.

       Muslim Brotherhood Wins in Egypt
Nadene Goldfoot

I remember Obama thinking that there was nothing alarming if the Muslim Brotherhood would win in a democratic election in Egypt , and that would be so much better than Mubarak's leadership.  I didn't, knowing what they stood for.  Their creed is not of a nice peaceful religion like Christianity or Judaism, but of hatred for all Jews everywhere.  (Read Stand With Us- list on Muslim Brotherhood).  His father and step-father may have been Muslims, but he himself had to have not been appraised about the goals of this group-to destroy Israel and kill all Jews everywhere.  It isn't a lot of hot steam, either.  They believe it so much that there is a fatwa out on us.
80% of the Egyptians voted in the first round of their new parliamentary elections and voted them in.  I might add that many Egyptians do not read or write.  They had to depend on pictures in order to vote.  Therefore, they are not as informed as our people who can but probably don't vet the candidates they are voting for very well. Unfortunaely, their reputation is that they have been the best organized of all the parties.   The political front group is called "The Democratic Alliance for Egypt."  They won at least 45% of the vote with another 20-25% for the Islamic Bloc, arm of the Salafists, who have created several parties.  One is the Hizb al-Noor.    The Salafists practice a puritanical form of Islam alien to Egypt.  Both parties have the same Islamist ideology with hatred of Israel and the USA,  and we Americans have been shelling out how many billions to them?

Simon Wiesenthal's Center brings out that the Muslim Brotherhood is an enemy of democracy and peace.  They have an obsession of anti-Jewish conspiracy theories.  I believe it is them that even claims that a recent shark was Jewish, and I'm talking about the kind that swims in oceans with fins.   The Brotherhood is not democratic at all.  Look at how they treat women and their Coptic Christian minority.

The Muslim Brotherhood is Egypt's Moderate party!  Heaven help them and us.  The Salafists, coming in 2nd with lots of power are the autocrats.  "All the while, Salafists will inject Egypt’s public space with a Saudi form of rigid, outdated, and intolerant Islam." from Husain at CNN.

CAIRO'S DEMONSTRATION AGAINST JEWS
Nadene Goldfoot
Cairo's Egyptians have been demonstrating all week about their own disorganized politics, but took time to have a Muslim Brotherhood rally against Jews and Israel purposely planned on the 1947 partition plan's anniversary which called for the establishment of a Jewish state They threatened to do this over a week ago.

They went to Cairo's most prominent mosque on Friday and of course had a venomous anti-Israel protest vowing to "one day kill all Jews."  About 5,000 people joined into this demonstration.  Throughout the event, the Muslim Brotherhood activists chanted: "Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv, judgment day has come."

The Muslim Brotherhood seems to be the leader of politics in Egypt as it is the best organized group, but the people have also showed an interest in the more Islamic parties as well.  The Brotherhood's charter calls for the destruction of Israel and Jews.  (See Stand With Israel and my blog article)

At a time when Sadat and then Mubarak were in charge, the Muslim Brotherhood was outlawed.  The leading religious leader, Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi was kicked out of the country.  He found refuge in Qatar, "that tiny Persian Gulf state" next door to Saudi Arabia with the Emir who embraced him.  Qaradawi has also called for the killing of all Jews as well as the destruction of Israel.  He tells people that he is a moderate, and I'm afraid that many good Americans have bought into this.   Qatar holds the rotating presidency this year of the Arab League.

Egypt and Israel's Peace Treaty: On a Slippery Slope in Danger of Crashing
Nadene Goldfoot

Young Egyptians who demonstrated for democracy and higher wages are among the anti-American and anti-Israeli group of demonstrators who still view Israel as an enemy.  So said Michael Laskier, professor of Mid-East studies at Bar-Ilan University.

Already the anti-Israel cleric, Yusuf al-Qardawi, has called for the "conquest" of Jerusalem's al-Aqsa mosque.  This came into Israel's domain after 1967's war in which Israel regained Jerusalem.  It also is a Jewish holy site.  This is Islam's 3rd-holiest site.  Yusuf had been exiled and was living in Qatar for many years and probably now is ready to get even.  Debka File also pointed out that he is a  Sunni who though exiled previously, now was allowed to lead the victory assembly at Taher Square on February 17th with a call to march into Jerusalem for taking over al Aqsa.  He even justified suicide bombings against Israelis.  Also, he is pushing to open the Egyptian-Gaza Strip border allowing Hamas freedom to fight against Israel in a bigger way.  He is all for jihad.  This radical preacher, a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, was allowed his way in this demonstation.

The soldiers had left the area and the Muslim strong armed moved in.  Opponents were dragged away.  This is not what the freedom demonstrators had bee asking for, but they now have it amonst them leading the way.

A major cause for concern is that for the first time in 30 years two Iranian ships that have gone through the Suez Canal on their way to Syria.  Netanyahu feels Iran is out to broaden its influence by doing this at this time.  Egypt had no reason to stop them as they said they were not carrying weapons.  I wonder if they bothered to inspect them.

The peace treaty had brought about many positive things.  40% of Israel's natural gas has come from Egypt.  Recently the pipe lines were attacked and damaged. Egypt also has been halting the flood of African immigrants through Egypt into Israel which was above and beyond what Israel could take care of.  People foreget that Israel is a wee little country.  Egypt has also been halting weapons coming into the Gaza Strip for Hamas to use against Israel.  Because of maintaining the peace, the USA has been generous in its aid to Egypt.  Laskier is afraid that Egypt may not actually break the peace but will not keep it, either, at the status quo.

The danger is that many reporters and countries think that the Muslim Brotherhood is nothing to fear because Egypt regained the country through "peaceful" means, but note what they are now doing and getting away with.  Though Yusef was allowed the star role in the demonstration on the 17th, articles published on the 18th show none of what was happening in the Brotherhood's rise to power in Egypt.

Now the question in my mind is just how strong will the young university students and others who only want a democratic state and prosperity be in fighting off the demands of the Brotherhood?  Already they were put down on this night of the 17th.

America's Unawareness of Muslim Brotherhood's Influence

Nadene Goldfoot

The Pew Research Center published interesting facts of Egypt's and Turkey's Muslim attitudes two months ago. This is the % of approval.

Egypt and Turkey's %
1. Stoning people who commit adultery: 82% 16%

2. Whipping/cutting off hands for theft and robbery: 77% 13%

3. Death penalty if one leaves Muslim religion: 84% 05%

They found that 59% side with fundamentalists in modernizing their country and 27% agreed with the modernizers.

The question of whether suicide bombings are justified showed:

54% justification
8% often
12% sometimes
34% rarely
46% never be justified.

A question should have been asked "when is there justification?" Mohamed Morsy spoke Thursday with a reporter and would not commit his movement to keeping the Israel-Egypt peace treaty. His group is opposed to Zionism and kept saying that the Muslim Brotherhood does not use violence but felt that Palestine was "resistance, " and resistance is acceptable by all people and is the right of people to resist imperialism. I am shocked to think that they see Israel as imperialists.

The New York Times has not been a help-mate to Israel at all. Barry Rubin also comments about this. This newspaper, which the Sulzberger family has founded in New York, has been publishing damaging articles such as Thomas Friedman's "Egypt delivers shock and awe" where he puts blame on Netanyahu for not making peace with the Palestinians, when it is the Palestinians who will not even come to the peace table. In fact, Palestinians have been offered half of the original plot that Israel was to have, and succeeding peace plans were not accepted by the Palestinians. They have been offered peace deals from 1948 to now and haven't taken them. They bide their time. They're planning on a complete take over of all of Israel. Proof of my statement is wanted, so look at the maps they produce. Where is Israel? They call it Palestine. Look at the missles and mortars they shoot into Israel that still go on to this day. So Friedman has the chutzpa to blame the Prime Minister of Israel instead. Another instance is their "Bumbling Brotherhood" which Dr. Essam el-Erian, a Brotherhood spokesman, wrote that Israel must know that it is not welcome by the people in this region. I would agree with this statement, but is he implying that they should leave? It is it from the NY Times? Reporter Scott Atran also wrote that the Brotherhood "wants power." He's right on with this statement, but do people understand what type of power they stand for? Egypt hasn't been like Iran. He also stated that the Brotherhood is receiving flack from Al Qaeda, of all groups, and is being accused of acknowledging the existence of Jews! He made mention that Tony Blair of England was well aware of the seriousness the Muslim Brotherhood stands for. Yet the American government is not admitting to this fact. In fact they are putting out their opinions that they are not powerful at all nor ever will be. There's a lot of history that they are not taking into consideration.

If Israel were imperialists they wouldn't have offered the choice parts of their own piece of Israel to the Palestinians in 1947-48 that weren't accepted. It's not Israel that has started the many wars; it's been the greedy Muslim nations that surround them who want their land.

Are Egyptians getting a complete education on what has transpired between Israel and the Muslim nations? No. Many can't even read. They have to rely on gossip and propaganda and it's against Israel. I would also bet their their history books, read in college, are not giving the true facts of history, either. They'll be in the same position that Palestinians were when Obama insisted that they be given the democratic opportunity to vote, and they voted in Fatah. Probably even the ones who were more liberal were forced by threats to vote this way. So much for Democratic voting in a non-democratic environment.

President Obama said that he was bringing in a new partnership between the US and the Muslim world when he spoke in Cairo in 2009. Now his staff "seems to be encouraging a transitional outreach to the Muslim Brotherhood". In pressuring Egypt's Mubarak to step down immediately, which he may have to do tomorrow, Egypt is ripe for a transition that will include the brotherhood again that could take over the whole country. Turkey has done just this. They had been in the Western group but now are leaving it. They have become one of the backers of Hamas terrorism.

It is most naive to think that just because we haven't seen the Muslim Brotherhood in the protests in Egypt on TV means that they lack the ambition to be in power. Give them an inch and they will take the whole foot or even the yard in their good time without your knowledge.
