Why Israel Can't Trust Iran

Nadene Goldfoot
2014's summer in Israel-Hamas supplied by Iran

One year ago, Israel was forced into a 50-day war to stop rocket attacks from Gaza. The conflict caused death and terrible suffering in Israel.

  •
  • HAMAS has been firing rockets randomly into Israel – a “shot across the bow” perhaps in prelude to renewed war?

"'It was 2 am in Israel when sirens sounded in the Lachish region, a frightening wake up call, alerting people to rush to shelters. The Gaza rocket fire at Israel does not only put the lives of hundreds of thousands of civilians at risk but it is a deliberate decision to target civilians. No person should live under the threat of terrorism, always fearing what will come next, and whether they will find shelter in time to save their lives.' from Avigail Avram-Hopke".

It seems that Ashkelon is their prime target these past 2 months.

Ashkelon is the Portland, Oregon's sister city and houses the Barzilai Medical Center that serves the whole area including Palestinians. it's Israel's front line hospital on the Gaza border.

Beach at Ashkelon
It's a beautiful beach city of 120,000 residents in an area of farms and citrus groves.  This city is between the desert and the sea, close to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Beersheva.  Besides it's beauty and all it has to offer, it is the oldest city recorded in the Bible with a history that goes back 4,000 years.
Ashkelon's modern section was founded when Afridar, a town established by South African Jews in 1952, and Migdal, a former Arab town, merged.  A national park in Ashkelon includes Greek and Roman ruins and the remains of ancient synagogues.  A Roman tomb decorated with frescoes, the ruins of a Byzantine church, and a wall built by Crusaders are also in the city.  So far in the last few months, people and the city have remained safe.  .

Southern Israel Hit With Rocket Attacks Six Times in 2015

Nadene Goldfoot
Rockets from Gaza into Southern Israel

Israel's Operation Protective Edge started July 8,  2014,  came to an end on August 26, 2014. It had lasted for 1 month 2 weeks 4 days.   Hamas fired some rockets from Lebanon.

4,594 rockets and mortars had been launched towards Israel.  Gaza and Israel had an unoffical cease-fire.

A cease-fire  lasted for  6 months.  Then in February 2015 , the Palestinians fired one rocket into Israel.

On April 23, Israel's 67th Independence Day (May 14, 1948 birth), a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip at Israel.  It hit an open field in the Sha'ar HaNegev region near Sderot causing no injuries or damage.  Evidently the Arabs knew Israel was using their Hebrew calendar for this event.

In May, Palestinians fired one rocket into Israel.  It was on May 27th when an M-75 or Grad missile impacted in Gan Yavne, a city east of Ashdod.  No report of injuries or damage were noted.

This month, the 4th of June-Wednesday Israel time at about 11:00pm, Ashkelon and Netivot's sirens sounded because 3 rockets were fired from Gaza at Israel and exploded near those cities.  2 landed in Sdot Negev Regional Council area and 1 near Ashkelon.  No casualties or damage were reported.

This time, after 6 rockets had been shot into their land this year,  the IDF retaliated the next morning with airstrikes against empty Hamas training camps in Gaza.  Then the Palestinians complained to Egypt that Israel was hitting them!

The Times of Israel reported: that "a Hamas source told Israel Radio that the rockets may have been fired by a cell of Salafist extremists allied with the Islamic State in retaliation for one of its members being killed by Hamas on Tuesday. The source said that Hamas was deploying its troops across the Gaza Strip to keep the peace."

So here we have fighting in Gaza over supremacy; Hamas and Salafist IS terrorists.  At this time, Obama is claiming that Israel really doesn't want peace, and it's Israel who is the victim of terrorism and their associated bombing!   I think that all Obama is concerned with is filling in his list of Things to Do during his 2nd term in office, regardless of what's going on.

Ashkelon is constantly in danger from bombing.  In the early 1950s, many South African Jews settled in Ashkelon, establishing the Afridar neighbourhood. They were followed by an influx of immigrants from the United Kingdom.  In 2011 the city had a population of 117,400.  it holds an important hospital for the area that serves both Arabs and Jews.

RETALIATION: Retaliation of 15 Year old Palestinian; Retaliation of Rockets From Gaza Starting Now? IS Leader Calling for Jihad

Nadene Goldfoot

Retaliation of all the rockets being shot from Gaza into Israel is starting.  A warning was given of 48 hours from Israel.  That was up another 48 hours later or more, but   after Saturday's long distance rocket just barely missing Be'er Sheva, the IDF air force went in and hit targets where rockets are shot from at 3:16 am this morning.  No one was injured or hit but they did do damage.  Jerusalem is damaged, too, from all the rioting going on from the murder of the 15 year old.

Israel took out 10 terror targets in Gaza. One target was a Fajr missile storage facility.  They destroyed a weapons making factory as well and a Hamas building and a tunnel.

Rioting and destruction has been going on in Jerusalem ever since a Muslim boy's burned body was found  right at the time of the burial of the 3 Jewish boys who were kidnapped, bound and shot.  The Muslim population were going crazy in anger, though we knew at the time that Hamas was responsible for the murders of the Israeli boys and the reaction of that came from the frantic police and IDF who were searching for them.  It took 2 weeks to find their half buried bodies outside of Hebron.  This caused a lot of Palestinians to be rounded up and taken in to be questioned, but the Israelis didn't become violent about it.  It was a pretty reasonable outcome considering that Hamas and even Fatah have been goading their people into taking such action.

But for the Israelis? They're not calling the murderers heroes or passing out candy like the Muslims had reacted to the death of the 3 Jewish teens.  The murderers will be prosecuted.   There is nothing in our teaching or programming that would cause anyone to be vindictive and take the law into their own hands to get even.  Yet, that is Israel's police conclusion.  They are holding 3 Jews, of which a few are minors.  They haven't been charged with the murder yet, as the investigation is still ongoing.

I'm an addict of the USA's Law and Order.  I see crazy reasons on that program for killings and what the police have to go through to actually bring a person to court and get a conviction.  Each country has their own laws and ways of dealing with it.  In the USA one is innocent until proven guilty.  In England, one is guilty until proven innocent.  Israel follows the American way.

What I know is that if true, the guilty Jews were more than stupid.  We live by the Golden Rule; Don't do to others what you don't want others to do unto you.  Murder is one of the 10 Laws that we are not to commit.  Revenge is not allowed in our culture.  I don't like to see our people sink to the level of our opponents.  That's why we have rules of ethics and morals.

In the heat of the sadness of realizing that children, two 16 year olds and one 19 year old had been kidnapped right after their attendance of a school of which a 16 yr old was also an American, a Yeshiva, that would have turned them into rabbis, it's easy to see some young hotheads could have felt the need to retaliate.

All the country were in mourning.  The emotions and vibrations were electric at that time.  Anger was being held back, but not with whoever killed this Palestinian boy.  I still find it hard to believe that it was Jews who acted in revenge, but it's possible.  Law and Order shows people that nothing is impossible; even parents killing their own children.  We have a case of that right now being documented on TV of a father who cooked his baby in a hot enclosed car while he went to work.

That brings up the possibility still, that the parents are relatives of this Muslim boy are guilty of the crime because there have been several honor killings happening among the Muslim community of Israel, as it happens also in the USA.  The family is suspect, and the boy was possibly a homosexual boy.

I heard on CNN that Obama was complaining about the Muslim's death and that he was also an American! .  He wanted the killer or killers to be found ASAP.  Did he make that much noise when our 16 yr old American Jewish boy and his 2 Jewish classmates, also a 16 yr old and a 19 yr old, were kidnapped and killed?  The mothers of the 3 even went to plead at the United Nations and they received a cold shoulder and disbelief.  They weren't even taken seriously.  But oh my!  The Muslim death is really important!  All children killed out of any reason should be taken seriously.  It certainly is on Law and Order.  It is in Israel, that I know.  Is this how the Palestinians plan on making their state Judenrein, which they have warned?  "Our state will be Judenrein, Not one Jew shall live here!" Yada yada yada yada!!!" And that's essentially what Obama, Kerry and the EU agreed to when they nodded their heads.

It is said that there are no coincidences in life, yet here we have an American-Israeli 16 year old and an American-Palestinian 15 year old both killed and for why?  Both seem to have been killed in an act of revenge.  With the Jewish boy, that killing's revenge seems to be just the fact that Jews are living in their ancient homeland of Judea and Samaria.  What else?  The Palestinians were just recognized by Obama and the EU.  Out in Gaza the rockets were shooting right into southern Israel.  If anyone has a beef, it's the Israelis.

Abu Akr al Baghdadi was just seen on Fox News TV in Mosul giving a speech in a Mosque and calling for Jihad. (not confirmed as yet that it was indeed him-but if you ask me, he looked just like the photograph of him.) this is the month of Ramadan and everyone there listening must also have had a twinge of hunger.  They haven't been afraid of showing very graphic and bloody videos of their actions.  Yet I see it's hard for people in the Middle East to believe the Western reporting about him.

Recent Attacks On Israel

Nadene Goldfoot

Three teen-aged Jewish boys, Eyal Yifra 19, Gilad Shaar 16, and Naftali Fraenkel 16,  were kidnapped, bound and shot dead by Hamas.  Their bodies were found half-buried two weeks after they were kidnapped on Thursday, June 12th after school.  Celebrations have been going on with Hamas over the kidnapping and people have been handing out candies in their joy.  Palestinian TV is full of programs of hatred for Israelis and Hamas encourages the continued attacking should come from Fatah also.  Evidently it did with this horrendous killing.  The night before a barrage of rockets rained down on southern Israel from Hamas and continued into the next morning on June 29th and 30th.  The rockets have been continuing.

At the same time, suddenly a Palestinian teen boy, Mohammed Abu Khdeir of east Jerusalem,  was found dead and of course the Israelis were blamed for this.  His body was found burned and hard to identify.   The line was that it was done in retaliation and riots have been going on in a frenzy against Israelis in Jerusalem.  More likely, the boy was killed by his own family in another of the honor killings in the Palestinian culture because rumor has it that he was a homosexual.  His pictures showed a  very thin-looking boy.  I note that the Palestinians' rioting is accompanied with the exact description in their news of a "celebration by the Israelis over this."  Hamas has congratulated the kidnapping.  Is it not a wonder then that they were the instigators if not the culprits?   I have seen nothing in the Israeli news of this, only the sorrow felt before with all of Israel praying in large groups for their safe return, the family's sorrow and the resolve to remain committed to Israel.  Every time something happens, the Palestinian news always copies for themselves what they have caused in the Israelis.  They try to turn the tide and make-believe that they are the victims instead of the aggressors.  It's been in Judaism since the Exodus of Moses and the Israelites that we are not to be happy when the enemy dies, as they are also children of G-d.  I cannot picture any of our IDF cheering over the death of this boy.  Immediately they would know the complication that would be caused from such an event, too.  No, this is all hear-say to instigate the Palestinians to riot.

In March  2014 between the 12th and 14th, 60 rockets fell. This was before, during and after Purim.

Update: 6/28: In center of Gaza were underground rocket launchers, Israel hit them, retaliation from Hamas of 5 to 6  rockets hitting Sderot, causing fire in industrial section.
Update: 6/30  Gaza has fired 15 rockets into Israel last night and this morning.
Update:   There have been near-daily rocket attacks, followed by Israeli reprisals.
Update: 6/31  More than a dozen rockets fired from Gaza Strip slammed into Israel early Monday morning , following violent days in the south which have seen a rocket hit an Israeli factory and IDF retaliatory attacks kill at least one.  A factory in Sderot was hit and a man in it injured.

                                                                       July

No injuries or damage are reported. In the morning 4 more rockets were fired. One fell in an open area in Sdot Negev. Another caused damage to several vehicles in the Eshkol Regional Council. A third rocket exploded in the area Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. No injuries were reported The fourth rocket caused a fire near a packaging factory in Eshkol. Though it looked like the fire were turned off, it has spread. Firefighting planes and additional squads try to stop the flames. So far no injuries are reported.   In the evening a salvo of mortar shells was launched at the Eshkol Regional Council area. No red alert in advance, but Explosions were heard. Security forces are inspecting the area. No reports of injuries or damages

Short after midnight two mortar shells exploded in open areas in the Eshkol Regional Council. No damage or injuries are reported. In the afternoon three mortar shells were fired at the same region. All exploded in open fields. No injuries or damage reported. Again four mortar shells were fired in the Eshkol Regional Council. No one was hurt, no damage reported. In the evening code red alarm was heard in the Ashkelon area. One rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome Missile Defense System, one exploded in open field. Red alert siren blared in the Eshkol and Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Councils.   Minutes after 2 rockets landed in open areas around. Five rockets were launched on the Sdot Negev Regional Council, three were launched towards Ofakim. One was shot down by Iron Dome, the others hit open fields. No damages ore injuries were reported. A rocket was fired on Eshkol Regional Council. No damages, no injuries.
July 3
1 hour past midnight the colour red siren is heard in Sderot and Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council.   One rocket exploded in Sderot. None was hurt, but structures got damaged.  "Terrorists in Gaza continue their relentless rocket fire upon Israel on Thursday as a Kassam rocket struck a building in Sderot Thursday morning that is being used as a summer day camp for children. The rocket thankfully did not explode as children were set to arrive minutes before the impact."
Fatah is following Hamas' lead with TV programs calling for the destruction of Israel.  Abbas is saying, Fatah heats up confrontational atmosphere:"Blood demands blood"Jerusalem, declare a revolution!"
Don't expect Abbas will try to cut ties with Hamas now, which is what Netanyahu has asked him to do.  They had united and they seem to be united with Gorilla glue.

6/3/14 Another rocket fell on a home and one fell next to a pre-school in Israel

Lebanon Shooting Rockets into Northern Israel

Nadene Goldfoot

Sunday morning, which is a good 10 hours ahead of USA time, was the time when Lebanon terrorists shot 2 rockets almost reaching Kiryat Shimona that landed west of this town housing a department store similar to the USA's Macy's.  When I lived in Safed from 1980-1985, we would drive up there which is quite close to the Lebanon border to shop. This town had been hit many times.  It had been attacked by rockets so many times  that our friend from the Teacher's Program, who had gone there to visit, wound up stuck in a bomb shelter for about a week and was unable to leave during that time.  Many Westerners live in Kiryat Shimona.

Now this morning by Israel time, 5 rockets were shot at Israel from this northern state of Lebanon and one landed in Israel.  Usually all the attacks have been coming from Gaza into southern Israel.  It is a sad thing to see this starting up from Lebanon once again.

Israel retaliated as warned the same day.

Israel's Operation Pillar of Defense's One Year Anniversary Against Hamas

Nadene Goldfoot

It was just one year ago that Israel had said ENOUGH and after being hit by rockets, mortars and missiles from Gaza since 2001, finally went into Gaza  in an offensive land operation to put an end to the shooting with Operation Pillar of Defense that lasted for 8 days.

It was recalled by both Hamas and other affiliated terrorists in Gaza and in Israel.  Cities like Sderot and Ashkelon were favorite sites hit in Israel.  Where Sderot is very close to the border, Ashkelon is a large major city to the north of Gaza along the sea where a large hospital is that serves both Arab Gazans and Israelis inside a large perimeter.  The strikes have caused the hospital to go to the basement levels in order to take care of their patients.  What seems to be an insane goal to me, the Arabs keep aiming for the city that provides them life when they themselves are injured.

Saturday afternoon during Shabbat, southern Israel was greeted by 3 rockets shot at them from Gaza.  They landed in an open field in Gaza!  The platform they were shot from must have been further back to not make it over the border into Sderot or some other Israeli site.

That was the climax of a week of rockets that were fired.  Last week one rocket again fell short of the border of Ashkelon from Gaza. First the warning siren blared.   The population were driven to take cover in bomb shelters.  The rocket fell just a little way from the border but landed on the Gazan side.

Last Tuesday, a Palestinian Arab managed to get into Israel from Gaza and was caught by the Israeli security forces.  He didn't come over as an immigrant wanting a better life, though.  He had grenades in his pockets.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented that there have been only 35 incidents of rocket fire since then, so this showed a 98% drop of rocket fire since last year's operation.

Will Kerry be successful in bringing about peace between the Palestinians and Israel?  He's dealing with Abbas from Fatah right now.  They have no connection with Gaza, the section that Israel left, lock, stock and barrel in the name of peace that has turned into a launching pad of rockets, mortars and missiles against them.

Hamas's charter shows no sign of ever making peace.   The charter is a 30 page document and as long as it remains their guiding dogma for Hamas or the Palestinian people in mass, the dream of peace remains impossible.  Land is elemental in this problem.  It is religion that is guiding the Palestinian Arabs.  From the Hamas Covenant, we read that "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it."  (said by The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory.)  The name "Hamas" means  strength and bravery according to Al-Mua'jam al-Wasit: c1.  They write, "Our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious.  It needs all sincere efforts."

That religion is the driving force, from article 6 in their charter, says, "The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees.  The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.  Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).

I have asked several Muslims about this section often quoted by Westerners who have studied the Koran and it has been explained to me in a very confusing way that either it's not there or its meaning is different and must be studied from another one of Islam's writings.  I get the feeling that it is not interpreted correctly but is often used by less educated Muslims to be the banner for their land fight against Jews in the Middle East.  However, when Muslims of little education read it, it is a very blatant statement and sounds like a dictum to be very aggressive against Jews and to do them harm.

Therefore I see in article 13  that there is no solution in Palestinian thinking  about the  Palestinian question  of a 2 state solution except through Jihad.  Initiative, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors.  Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences  are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement.

Article 32 threatens Muslims that today Jews are taking Palestine and tomorrow it will be one country or another and that the Zionist plan is limitless.  They warn that the Zionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates, and then want to take more land.

I find this laughable because our problem is keeping Israel with a majority of Jews to keep it a Jewish state.  The last thing we need is again to live among the world as we have been, a minority without any rights of our own as has already happened in the past.  It is the Muslims who have been expansionists, forcing everyone to convert to Islam and taking their land and holy sites.  So what they really are fearing is that Jews will suddenly act like they have with the same kinds of goals.  Once they realize we are not about to ape their behaviors, perhaps they will accept us.  Hamas must be educated with some of these more enlightening and realistic ideas to solve this world problem.

Has John Kerry, Secretary of State of the USA, found out if Hamas has changed its charter yet?  How about Fatah?  Why should Israel make peace with one who is under the spell of the other and will cooperate with fighting against Israel?  Shouldn't that twosome be worked on by the USA first before even thinking of creating another state?  Could they be thinking that this will give Fatah power over Hamas?

Last Week, This Week, Israel Faces Attacks

Nadene Goldfoot

Last week there was a shootout, not at the OK corral, but in Judea-Samaria.  The IDF had the shootout with Mohammed Aazi who they wanted to arrest for the Tel Aviv bus bombing that caused injury to 20 people aboard the bus.  Instead of coming along quietly, he risked shooting and lost.

Also during that time, the IDF found a bomb placed in the security fence meant to go off when IDF military vehicles drove past.  They dismantled it.

Israel announced early Monday morning the names of the 26 prisoners they were letting out of prison in order for the peace initiative to go forward as demanded by the Palestinian Arabs.  They are all convicted murderers.  5 are from Gaza.  This was enough reason for Hamas in Gaza to fire off 2 rockets into Israel to show their unwillingness to go along with any Fatah-produced peace with Israel.  One of the rockets was aimed toward Ashkelon which the Iron Dome stopped  The 2nd fell nearby in an empty lot.

Israelis were quick to see the connection.  I wonder if Kerry and his contingent will understand the meaning of  the rockets.  Is this peace talk around the table now in a stalemate?

Lebanese Rockets: A Threat From Hezbollah For Israel

Nadene Goldfoot

From Lebanon comes the threat by Hezbollah that they have 200,000 long-range rockets pointed at Israel that can hit any spot in the tiny country.  I believe Israel has known about this for some time, now and is ready in case any are shot into their country.

Evidently this is all Lebanon's elite are concerned about doing, killing Jews.  Do they care about what their people need and would like to have improved?   Have the people of Lebanon forgotten what it was like to live in a free society?  A citizen there is not really living.  They are existing in some kind of police state where the police are not in control anymore.

This small state of only 4,196,453 north of Israel has been overrun and occupied by Muslim invaders, not the Jews.    Once a state with 60% Muslims, the Christians have been beaten down by a combination of Sunni and Shi'a Muslims.

Qassam and Rocket Shot From Gaza During Past Month of Cease Fire and Peace Talks

Nadene Goldfoot

Nadene Goldfoot
Wednesday night a Qassam rocket from Gaza fell into the Eshkol Regional Council.  Terrorists from there just can't keep their fingers off of firing into southern Israel.

Last Tuesday morning a rocket was shot into the Shaar Hanegeve Regional Council.  Promises evidently are made by these terrorists in order to break them.

These are follow ups from rockets shot on the 18th and 21st of July.  So there's really been many rockets breaking the cease fire that have been shot into southern Israel.  Do not think that just because no one was killed that it doesn't cause damage to the civilians.

One thing is certain; it hardens the hearts of the Israelis who are the targets and it hardens the hearts of those of us who find out how our friends are being treated.  If Israel were any other country, such as China, you know how they would react.  How about Northern Korea or Russia?

I don't want to hear one word about how horrible Israelis are and that they have killed Gazans.  Israel is not like any other country in that when they feel they must retaliate to teach those incapable of understanding a lesson, they aim for the supply centers and not the civilians.  The tactic that this unbelievable foe uses is to hide among their own people, especially children.  They don't mind if they lose such people to the cause anymore than they mind talking  depressed  or extremely radical people into becoming suicide bombers.  Their whole scene is  sick.

Rocket and Mortar Attacks into Southern Israel: Before and on Eve of Peace Talks

Nadene Goldfoot

Why shoot rockets into Southern Israel on the eve of peace talks for the Palestinians?  Don't they want peace with Israel?  Evidently not according to those who have shot the rockets as it's a defiant move from Hamas terrorists in Gaza showing their disfavor with Fatah and the peace talks that have already started in Washington DC.

July 18th was the first one.  Two rockets struck the Eshkol region in the evening.  This is land in NW Negev between Ashkelon and Beersheba which borders the  Gaza Strip.   Then again on July 21st. at 10pm another rocket struck the Eshkol region.  The Eshkol region was hit again by 2 mortar shells  which struck on the 24th at 10am.   Now this Tuesday morning,  the 30th,  another rocket struck  into the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council area without killing anyone, thankfully. This is in the same area but also includes the town of Sderot, which has been hit so many times in the past.

A rocket is a rocket, though,  and a mortar is just as bad.  They bring death and destruction if it falls within a populated spot.  One never knows.  It's like Russian roulette.  It brings fear to one's body which can cause a woman to miscarry.  The emotional strain on people adds up to physical problems, and the Israelis have been under such pressure in southern Israel since 2000.

Israel has been hoping for peace ever since they were created once again on May 14, 1948.  That's a long time enduring lots of wars and attacks.  While the repertoire coming out of the Palestinian side is," does Israel want peace" and the reply has always been yes, the Palestinians have never agreed to anything pertaining to a peace pact.  In fact, what Abbas does is praise those who have killed Israelis in public squares and on TV.   Now both the Fatah members and Israel are committed to 9 months of sitting it out and coming to a plan.

Hamas in Gazans been completely cut off from Fatah who reside in Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem.  Making peace with Fatah hopefully will cause Hamas to agree to the same program.  Israel is actually in the position to have to make peace with 2 entities; not one.  Is there any logic to this war that has been going on?

As George Peters writes from Melbourne, Australia, the so called "Occupied Territories" are not being "Occupied" by Israel, and if they belong to anyone, they belong to the Jewish national Homeland as part of the League Mandate for Palestine (which is still enshrined in Article 80 of the UN Charter.)  Yes, they were part of the Jewish National Homeland.

From winning in the 1967 Six Day War, which was an Arab nation attack on Israel, the Occupied Territories were simply a return to the reconstituted Jewish national Homeland that had been illegally annexed by Jordan in 1948.  The Arabs waged an aggressive war against Israel.  This can be called "Crimes against Peace" and was #1 in the Nuremberg Trial of the Major War Criminals.  It was a crime against Humanity; Israel.

As for East Jerusalem, which the king of Jordan has complained loudly about not wanting any Jewish prayers said on their Mosque grounds, which is also the grounds of our past Temple, is, along with Judea and Samaria, geographically, historically and legally, part of the reconstituted Jewish National Homeland.  These places have been reclaimed by the Jews after several Crimes against Peace were committed against them by the many belligerent pan-Arab military invasions of 48-49 and 1967.

Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem were illegally seized and then retaken by Israel after 2 illegal wars of aggression and are now with their rightful owner as in accordance to the League Mandate for Palestine.  According to international Law, they are not occupied Territory.  They are legally part of of the Jewish Homeland which is called Israel.  If someone from Australia can figure this out, which many international lawyers have been declaring and we bloggers have been repeating, the 9 month peace program is going to be quite the place to hear some loud shouting.  I hope the defenders of Israel have their notes at hand. So far the attack is on again with 4 rockets and 2 mortars upon southern Israel and the peacemakers are just warming up.

Sunday NightCame With 7 Rocket Attacks

Nadene Goldfoot
Gaza was at it again shooting 7 rockets into southern Israel Sunday night.  Before midnight, 3 rockets fell into the Bnei Shimon region and exploded in an open area.  People knew about it first with the siren sounding.  It broke the silence of 40 days.

By 1:am 4 rockets had fallen in the Ashkelon region.  One must have been caught by the Iron Dome as 3 exploded in open areas.

There had been 12 rockets attacks   in April and 3 in May of which 2 were rockets and one was from small arms shooting.

Though no one was inured, this does wake everyone up including children.  It is unnerving and simply angers most people.  It lets people know that the neighbors are neither friendly or peaceful and cannot be trusted.

Update: 6/24/13: Ha'aretz newspaper reports that Israel took out 4 targets in Gaza in reply to the 6 rocket attack.

Southern Israel Struck by Rockets

Nadene Goldfoot
Three rockets hit southern Israel near the Hof Ashkelon regional council area Wednesday morning, setting off the alarm system in Ashkelon and probably shocking everyone.  That broke the calm of 2 months.  So far this year, 20 rockets have been fired into Israel from Gaza.  There was an attack when Obama was visiting.

Since November 2012's Israeli Operation Pillar of Defense,  things had been a little better.  Israel had been hit ever since 2001 by Gaza.  Eleven years of living under such attacks was too much.  No government except the attacked Israel was complaining about it.  The  UN did nothing about it.  Neither did all the Human Rights Nations.  Only when Israel responded with Pillar of Defense did we hear any comments, and that was to complain about Israel's retaliation of sorts.  Even that was different from the Palestinian attacks.  Whereas the Palestinians aimed at the populace hoping to hit civilians, Israel went in by air and pinpointed targets with the goal of stopping their ability to continue firing at Israel.  They went out of their way not to hit civilians.  Of course, their militants hide behind women and children in schools and mosques when the going gets rough.

An example of this lopsided attitude which condemns Israel so easily is found in today's news about soccer.

"A call by 62 top football players, many from English Premier League and first division teams in Europe, condemned Israel’s recent attack on Gaza and the decision by UEFA, the European football federation, to hold its 2013 Under 21 tournament in Israel.  Petitions calling for the boycott of the tournament have been organised by, among others, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the Muslim Public Affairs Committee UK, and former Tottenham Hotspur footballer Frédéric Kanouté "  Kanoute ended his international career in 2010.  The 35 year old 6'4" striker now plays in the Chinese League.

Where was this group when Israel was being attacked for 11 years?  Now the attack is starting up again.  But the soccer game will be held in Israel on time as scheduled.  Notice that it is the Palestine group leading the boycott.
The result of this morning's attack was the immediate closure of the Kerem Shalom border crossing.

It looks like the Salafist group are the ones doing the shooting.  They have stated that they will not abide by the rules.
