All Is Not Quiet on the Western Front

Nadene Goldfoot
The month of March saw terrorists from Gaza fire over 200 rockets into Israel over 4 days after terrorists Zuhir Musa Ahmed and Mahmoud Ahmed Mahmoud Hanani were killed.

Fire broke out in the Eshkol region in Southern Israel after it was hit by high trajectory firing into the Israeli territory.  IAF aircraft retaliated by striking 2 direct hits on  weapons storage sites  in northern and southern Gaza on yesterday.

Before, on Sunday the aircraft took out a terrorist tunnel with direct hits.  This came about in retaliation to being hit by a Qassam rocket in the south late Sunday night, exploding in the Eshkol Regional Council.

Friday morning another fight took place between IDF troops and a Gaza terrorist as they were trying to infiltrate the western Negev from Gaza which took the life of a young Golani Brigade soldier.

All this shooting was supposed to have been under a cease fire maintained by Egypt, but for the terrorist groups, only seems to mean that  they just do not fire barrages.  They shoot just as it suits them to remind Israelis that they can do it which disrupts the lives of those in Southern Israel.  How would you like to be the sitting ducks?

April showers brought 10 rockets fired at Israel in 9 separate attacks, two being launched from the Sinai in Egypt this time.  3 were Grad missiles aimed at Eilat on the Red Sea coast.  Some residences suffered from shock.  This happened on the 4th.  On the 8th 2 Qassam were fired into the Sdot Negev in the morning and a rocket was fired at Sderot in the evening.  The Color Red alarm sounded in the city once more.  Sderot has taken upteen hits.  On the 14th Fatah fired a rocket at night with CARE International detecting it coming from east of Jabalia which exploded prematurely.  They did it again the next day with Qassam rockets coming into the Sha'ar Hanegev and Ashkelon areas.  The 22nd, 23rd and 30th also had Qassam rockets fall into the areas.

May is supposed to bring flowers but the Ashkelon area only got another Qassam rocket and Israel decided to retaliate by hitting a tunnel in northern Gaza on the 1st.  Another Qassam rocket shot into Sdot Negev again on the 9th and that brings us to the 15th with a Qassam rocket fired in the morning into Sha'ar Hanegev area.

In this we see that Israel is the target of constant attacks.  Israel retaliates once in a while aiming at the cause, not the people.  Yet we are seen as the bad guys.  Go figure.  What kind of logic is this?  England is being very anti-Israel with many Brits supporting the Palestinian "liberation struggle against Israeli imperialism" as some see it.  This is the same British Empire who conquered and subjugated other countries, controlling over 1/4 of the world at one time where "the sun never set on the British Empire."  Queen Elizabeth II is into her "diamond jubilee" and has never visited Israel yet.

Senator Barack Obama flew into Israel vowing that if he became President he would work towards ending the Israel-Palestine conflict "from the minute he was sworn into office."  He didn't let on that he meant he would work to push Israel back to indefensible lines from 1967 which would mean untold amounts of Israeli lives to be lost. No, it's not popular to be supportive of Israel, but we are anyway.  They're the ones getting attacked and shelled and why?  For existing.

Israel Should Fight Rockets With Tennis Balls?

Nadene Goldfoot
Lebanon fired 4 rockets on Israel last week most likely by Hezb'allah, the Iranian proxy.  Israel provoked them by firing back.  The terrorists, being the bullies that they are, have screamed "NO FAIR"!

Lebanon has actually filed a UN complaint on Monday saying that the tiny Jewish state can't respond with artillery shells, saying this is in violation of UNSC Resolution 1701.  They figure it's okay to fire on Israel, which is an act of war, but that Israel can never respond.

Israel's self defense is a violation of Resolution 1701 and international law?  Lebanon's terrorists are trying to set a precedent in the UN that any response from Israel will be met with world condemnation.  It seemed to work with Goldstone, who finally changed his judgement,  so they're trying it again. " Under international law, Resolutions 1701 is at best a declarative statement of sentiment that lacks legal authority or enforcement power whatsoever . The recommendations spelled-out in the resolution can not be imposed on the parties concerned."

As for 1701, John Bolton was questioned and said that Hezb'Allah needs to be disarmed.  That was laid out and hasn't been accomplished.  Islamic supremacists have not met any of the conditions of 1701, so this is outrageous to attack Israel with impunity to get Israel to respond.  Their objective is to make Israel one big death camp, evidently.

You know bullies.
"No, Ma, who, me?  I didn't do it.  Aw, I just fired one little rocket into Israel.  Those meanies!  They fired 6 back at us!  They scared us!  Boo hoo!  You go get them, Ma."

Bullies never seem to tell the truth.  They fired 4 and the IDF pounded the launch sites with artillery shells.  The UN force called for restraint from both sides.  An organization associated with al-Qaida claimed responsibility for firing the rockets.  Israel holds Lebanon's government responsible for the attacks and expects them to keep the peace.

North Korea Shells South Korean Border

How Do They Respond?

North Korea just fired near the border of South Korea.

"South Korea says it has scrambled F-16 fighter jets and returned fire after North Korea shot dozens of rounds of artillery onto a populated South Korean island near the countries' western border, according to The Associated Press."

That's a first shelling and the reaction of South Korea was immediate. South Korea hasn't had to be under the gun for the past 11 months like Israel has. There hasn't been a month of this past year that Israel hasn't been shelled. Israel endured years of shelling with small reprisals on their part that always brought about condemnation from the International world. This is what brought about Israel's short Cast Lead intervention in trying to stop the shelling on Southern Israel.

North Korea now has atomic ability. Perhaps they're showing who is in control. They seem to be mirroring Iran.

Two countries are trying to live despite being attacked by enemies. They both realize that you can't let an attack go unpunished without a reprisal.

11/24/10: The United States is prodding China to be pivital in restraining North Korea. This is after one bombing on South Korea. What did the US do after the Palestinian's first attack on Israel, I might ask? How about after 6 years of bombing? How about after each bombing all this year? Instead, Israel gets the pressure to cave into illegal demands. I get it. Start an attack if you're not Israel and then you get praise and backing. Israel, the world's scapegoat, gets judged differently than the rest of the world.

11/25/10 After finding out that 4 people had actually been killed in the attack, things are really popping. The Defense Minister, Kim Tae-young, has resigned over complaints that he was too slow to retaliate, and it is thought that the two Koreas, Russia, China, Japan and the USA should be now brought in for talks. I wonder why, when Israel was first attacked by the Palestinians, the world didn't react quickly like with Korea. I guess they just care more about it. They know that Israel is sane and would not use atomic arms, but North Korea is undependable. I notice that the stock market is being affected by this attack, too. I get the feeling that when Israel is attacked, no one misses a meal over it except the Israelis.

10/25/10 It's all South Korea's fault for engaging in War Games with USA claims North Korea. Of course their gaining nuclear capabilities has nothing to do with it.

10/26/10 28,000 American troops are kept in South Korea for protection. North Korea just broke the law again by firing warning shots. They don't want the war games with US to proceed.

Saudis Deny Facts About Israel: Incite Hatred

Nadene Goldfoot
Arabs are showing that they are not advancing peace but are trying to deligitimize Israel.
The Durban II Conference is being held in April and is calling for Israel to accept their Arab League peace initiative. While they call for this, they refuse Israel's desire to negotiate and are unwilling to go to Jerusalem or talk to Israel's Prime Minister. They continue to advance their idea that Israel is not legitimate in international forums like the UN General Assembly and Human Rights Council. Durban II will be a repeat of Durban I, which was completely against Israel. Today, these groups are top-heavy with Arabs and their influence.
Luckily, the USA and Canada will not attend Durban II. Several other European nations are considering withdrawing from this meeting.

Arabs are trying to promote peace while knocking Israel. They are not fighting racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. They are creating it. The conference is a stunt by the Saudis to make us forget that they are state sponsors of terror. 15 Saudi citizens were the perpetrators of 9/11 and they want us to forget that little fact.

Israel is legitimate. It was created under the United Nations in May 1948. It has been the victim of Arab attacks ever since then, and has miraculously survived. Arabs have not succeeded in killing off Israel though they try every trick. Arabs are trying propaganda to destroy Israel in such things as these conferences. I just hope that our country continues to be wary of their goal.

What's It Been Like to Live in Sderot?
Sderot has been hit with rockets and missiles for the past eight (8) years. Eight miles away lies Sapir College where 8,000 students attend. They have 15 seconds; seconds, not minutes, warning to run for a bomb shelter. That's because of the close proximity to the border. Lately they have been shelled by 80 rockets in one day! You can't do anything but run like crazy in 15 seconds. The people in the area are suffering from PTSD. The government has been afraid to react, but finally did Saturday.
The so-called cease-fire was not doing a thing to stop the shelling on Southern Israel. It continued and then sped up once the period came to an end. All this time Southern Israel has been living under the conditions of never knowing when a rocket or mortar was falling, and it would happen.
The reaction of the Arab world is predictable. They are up in arms about Israel's attack at the strongholds of the Hamas terrorists. Yes, about 230 people were killed in the attack, a few of which are civilians. That's because they put their weapons in the middle of a population so that people would condemn Israel's attacks when they came. The bullies believe it's okay to attack Israel but get mad when they act to protect their people.
A government is duty-bound to protect its citizens. Peace means living without fear and bombing.
Below is the website for Road 90 where there are videos of what it's been like to live in Southern Israel. After registring (free) you will be able to see for yourself.
