The Call to the Damned Peace Table

Nadene Goldfoot
"Just get to the damned table!"  Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said to Netanyahu threateningly.  Who does he think he is, General Vespasian?

What's he threatening?  Punishment, like a general would say to his private?  Leon just got on the job and has no patience.  Look at how long Israel has been waiting for a decent partner at the peace table.  All the while Israel has to put up with mortars, rockets and missiles raining into their country that are trying to kill their citizens.  What does Panetta have to put up with?  Just Hillary Clinton and Obama.  Isn't that quite a difference?

Leon Panetta visited Israel for the first time in October.  Now he thinks he knows everything.  He seems to have no idea why the Palestinians have not sat down at the table with Israel.  He must have forgotten Netanyahu's speech at the UN about this very thing and the fact that he begged the Palestinians in front of the whole UN to come to the table.  Ever since 1948 Israel has been asking these same people to talk of peace and stop making war, and to discuss having their own state.

They keep refusing because they don't want a piece of Israel.  They want the whole tiny country.  It's not in their plan to just add another 49th Muslim country to the world.  They want the pleasure of wiping Israel off the face of the earth.  It's not peace that they want to achieve.  It's the whole piece of land. Like Golda Meier once said, "We will achieve peace when the Arabs love their children more than they hate us."  The world is still waiting along with Israel.  It's their hatred that is invented as well in order to serve the powerful Arab rulers in keeping out a Jewish state.  There is no rational reason to hate Jews.

I love how Begin answered Ambassador Lewis in a similar situation as seen below.

"What kind of expression is this – "punishing Israel"? Are we a vassal state of yours? Are we a banana republic? Are we youths of fourteen who, if they don't behave properly, are slapped across the fingers? Let me tell you who this government is composed of. It is composed of people whose lives were spent in resistance, in fighting and in suffering. You will not frighten us with "punishments." He who threatens us will find us deaf to his threats. We are only prepared to listen to rational arguments. You have no right to "punish" Israel – and I protest at the very use of this term." Israeli Prime Minister, Menachem Begin to US ambassador Lewis in December 1981 after President Reagan attempted to punish Israel.

So, secretary Leon Panetta, you  can take on the job of telling the Palestinians to
"Just get to the damned table!"  I think Israel has tried enough times already. All our rational arguments are falling on deaf ears who are not being rational in the first place.  They realize all too clearly that  shelling us and threatening our citizens will only bring retaliation from the air.  They know this and they relish this fact.  We turned the other cheek for 6 long years and it did no good.  Can you come up with anything that is also just for Israel?

Now if it is Gingrich running the show in the next election, he's going to understand the whole state of affairs and won't be pressing Israel like this.  He'll be pressing the Palestinians-maybe.  After all, at least he realizes the facts that they are an "invented" people in the first place.  Maybe he'll tell them like the past Lebanese Arab-American reporter from Washington DC , Helen Thomas, said to us Jews: "Get the hell out of Palestine! They can go home-Poland, Germany, America."  That coming from an American reporter calling Israel "Palestine."

In the Palestinian's case, they can go home to Sudan, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, as well as from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemen, Libya, Morocco, Bosnia, the Caucasus, Turkmenistan, Kurdistan, India, Afghanistan and Balochistan.

Our Sabra Prime Minister: Benjamin Netanyahu

Nadene Goldfoot
Benjamin Netanyahu, 62,  was born on October 21, 1949 to Professor Ben Zion Netanyahu in Tel Aviv and lived in Jerusalem until he was a teenager.  It was then that his father, a history professor, moved the family to the States so he could teach Jewish History.

They returned in 1967 when Benjamin joined the IDF and was in the Six Day War.  He was wounded there.  When he left the IDF he was a captain.

He went to MIT in Boston and studied political science and also attended Harvard to continue his studies.  He studied international business as well.  Benjamin was affected by his older brother, Yoni's "Jonathan" death in 1976 when he was a part of the Entebbe rescue group.

Benjamin became prime minister from 1996 to 1999 and again became prime minister in 2009.  He speaks such perfect English that I was thinking that he was born in the States.  No, he was born and raised in Israel, which means he is a Sabra.

Ganging up on Israel

Nadene Goldfoot

Europe, Russians and Palestinians are ganging up on Israel and the USA. Saeb Erekat, Phd, an important Palestinian negotiator who lectures at An Najah U. in Nablus in Political Science, is pushing Israel to accept 7 million Palestinians in the "Right of Return" deal of Arabs who fled the area in 1948 when 7 Arab armies attacked Israel when it first declared itself a state. The fact that the number has gone from around 600,000 to 7 million does not deter him. Nor does the fact that they were not forced to leave by the Israelis but told to do so by their Arab leaders. Nor does he ever bring up the fact that a like number of Jews were forced out of the Arab countries and had to flee to Israel minus all their possessions. This is part of history that the Arabs want to forget about.

This admirer of Arafat has credentials in "Peace." How can he think that what he is demanding is a peaceful action? I guess it depends on what side of the fence you sit on as to how you view the world, no matter what you have studied in college. It's all how to use your learning to suit your personal needs.

Not only do they want to flood the country with Arabs, but they want all of Jerusalem for themselves. One can see why Netanyahu expects to have a pow wow with Abbas, even though Abbas is threatening to go to the UN to declare Palestine a state. Perhaps this is why Abbas is not bothering to come to the table. What he is demanding is out of line and he knows it. I think he is even embarrassed to demand in person such things. It's like the Middle Eastern way of shopping. One asks for a very high price and then both negotiate down to an amount that both can live with. I see Abbas starting at a ridiculous price that cannot even be considered.

Accept Our Jewish State

by Nadene Goldfoot

Netanyahu addressed the Israeli Knesset yesterday saying that in order for him to freeze building for a short time in Judea and Samaria, the Palestinians must accept Israel as a Jewish State.

Palestinians immediately rejected his deal saying that Netanyahu was "playing games."

Let's face it. The Arabs simply don't want Israel in their midst and are not about to accept a Jewish state peacefully. It's not us that are playing games; it's Abbas, the former PLO terrorist and his Iranian-driven Hamas co-horts.

The United States is promising incentives including security guarantees to Netanyahu if Israel reinstates some form of the settlement freeze. Why on earth would we stop building and working towards the future if the Palestinians are just going to keep trying to kill us no matter what we do? How is the USA capable of giving us security guarantees? In what way? How? They wouldn't supply us with soldiers as that wouldn't work and the USA would be against that. It would have to be in some sort of technical apparatus or weaponry. So we'd stop building and our Israeli citizens living there would suffer because of it, but aha-the USA is supplying them with M1-rifles, maybe? Good grief.

There is no way that the Palestinians have come up with rewarding us for not building. Everything they are doing shows they are our combatants. Their schoolbooks show maps without Israel, only Palestine. Their schools teach hatred of Israelis, or should I just say Jews since to them there is no Israel? Abbas has no clout with Hamas in Gaza who are bent on wiping us out for sure. It's these people that have to impress Netanyahu, not Obama's promises. Ah-I remember his promise to AIPAC's meeting with him. He was going to keep Jerusalem whole for Israel. He has not since backed his statement.

Netanyahu said that if the Palestinian leadership (and does that mean just Abbas or both leaders of Fatah and Hamas) would say unequivocally to its people that it recognizes Israel as THE NATIONAL HOMELAND OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE, he would be willing to convene his government and ask for an additional suspension of building. Palestinians have turned down the opportunity again.

American's Misunderstandings About Benjamin Netanyahu

by Nadene Goldfoot
The American press has been very hard on Israel's new prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, or "Bibbi." They have painted him as a right-wing extremist against peace. Of course, this is also associated with America's Republican Party, which is also called "right wing" and brings on thoughts of ex President Bush.
Nothing can be farther from the truth. Netanyahu was prime minister many years ago, and was also under crucifixion from the press. At that time he talked with Arafat and made and kept an agreement to withdraw Israeli troops from Hebron in 1997.

This gave the Palestinians rule over more than 80% of Hebron with a promise of leaving more areas of the West Bank in coming weeks. Hebron had a long Jewish religious and political history, and he gave it up for the hope of peace.

Again, in October of 1998 at the White House he agreed to turn over 13% of the remaining land to Palestinians in return for their pledge to stop terrorism, prohibit illegal weapons and prevent weapon smuggling. The Palestinians failed in this promise.

Today, the Palestinians are in two camps; Fatah and Hamas. Giving up more of Israel's teeny territory is no longer an option. Israelis see how giving up Gaza only brought more terrorism. Palestinians need to show they want peace. Israel has always wanted peace and has continually demonstrated this fact. Is it because they have done so the reason the world expects them to continue to give away the whole state?

Netanyahu is committed to peace. He focuses on improving the lives of the Palestinians by helping their economy. He feels this is a complement to political steps. He said that "if we have a strong Israeli-Palestinian economic relationship, it's a strong foundation for peace." He feels they should govern themselves as long as they do not threaten Israel. His new government will do all in its power to reach peace with their neighbor. All neighbors ready for peace will find Israel's hands outstretched before them.

Netanyahu was prominent when I lived in Israel from 1980-1985. I adored him. I could understand him. He spoke English and Hebrew so very well. He was intelligent and strong in his convictions. To hear Americans moan and groan about him repulses me. They only depend on the press coverage without knowing the truth about him at all. After the Olmert administration, I am delighted that Netanyahu won. I would have voted for him had I been there as I am a citizen. I felt that Olmert was giving away the baby in the bathtub, and Bibbi cares deeply for the baby and will protect it with his life. It is his baby, too.

Realistic Creation of a Palestine State
by Nadene Goldfoot
Israel is not about to jump into the fire to please the nations of the world. It doesn't intend to self-destruct.
Benjamin Netanyahu of the Likud party has just been deemed the new Prime Minister. His foreign minister is Avigdor Lieberman of the Yisrael Beitenu , the 2nd largest party in the coalition. Lieberman has declared that Israel will not follow the 2007 Annapolis meeting's outcomes. Israel had never ratified Annapolis, nor did parliament. Instead, they will continue to follow the 2003 road map.
Netanyahu has not endorsed statehood for the Palestinians. He believe they should govern themselves but have limited powers of authority that would not harm Israeli's security. The 2003 road map was more realistic. This plan made the Palestinian state contingent on the Palestinians reining in militants.
To me, it is utterly ridiculous to create a state that is bent on destroying its neighbor. They must sign papers and show after an x amount of years that they are accepting Israel and willing to go to the nth degree to live in peace. Otherwise, it's like taking a new medicine that you know will create cancer and kill you. I am very happy to read that Israel's new government is more realistic and not so eager to satisfy and please greedy nations.

USA Pushing Israel With Hillary

by Nadene Goldfoot
Hillary was on TV today knocking Israel about not opening the gates of Gaza. She seems to ignore the fact that over 100 rockets have been fired from there since we pulled out only a few weeks ago. Israel allows many trucks in every day but is keeping out concrete, pipes and such that can be used to build bunkers and rockets. Hillary wants lots of humanitarian aid to enter Gaza but ignores trucks that already are entering with such things.

She also complained that Israel demolished a couple of buildings in East Jerusalem built by Arabs illegally. She said it was unhelpful. The buildings are new and not occupied. The Palestinians want East Jerusalem as their capitol. East Jerusalem fell to Israel in the 1967 War but of course the international community doesn't recognize their legal annexation because it's Israel. If it were the United States, it would be automatically part of the USA like Texas.

Now, Netanyahu probably will be the next Prime Minister of Israel once he forms a coalition. He has come to the conclusion that a state of Palestine is not a good idea. After being attacked by the neighboring Arabs for 60 years, I can see why he has given up on the idea. They are not compatible with Israel. I came to the same conclusion some time ago. Abbas, head of the West Bank Palestinians, is not the leader of Hamas, and his people are being slaughtered by Hamas. This is actually not the goal of Hamas, at least. They just want to wipe out Israel, and once they meet that goal they will probably not be satisfied until they kill all the Jews there. I base that conclusion on their utter hatred of Jews and what they are teaching in homes and schools.

Hillary, how would you like to have rockets falling in your neighborhood and hitting homes and even a school? Wouldn't you scream at your government to protect you? How do you think Israel is feeling by having this happen to them?

Hillary, how would you like to have a country next door who only wants your complete destruction? They teach it to their children, even sacrificing their children to this end. They are not ready to make peace and exist as others are existing. Do you really think they should be rewarded with their own state? Not now, Hillary.

Benjamin Netanyahu Speaks Out

"If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel." BB. (Benjamin Netanyahu)

Benjamin Netanyahu recently spoke on CNN from New York. . When interviewed, he said that the Palestinians in Gaza were rocketing us, and we were responding. It’s a one way street. The attacks are not motivated for political means. They are attacking to destroy the state of Israel.
When asked why he thought it improper to talk with Hamas., he asked why we should when we know that their goal is the destruction of Israel. We did talk with other countries like Egypt and Jordan and gained a peaceful outcome. Hamas is an inplacable enemy. There is no viable end result in talking with them.
