History About Who Rachel Corrie Was and What Happened

One fact I have uncovered is the one about Rachel Corrie and her friend Joe Smith where Rachel was killed by a bulldozer run by an Israeli. My information comes from http://jewishworldreview.com/0303/corrie.asp and is reported by David Bedein, my friend from Safed, Israel who was a social worker at the time I lived there. He is now with the Beit Agron International Press and is the Bureau Chief of Israel Resource News Agency in Jerusalem.

The story was painted as if the Israeli had killed her on purpose. This was reported by Reuters as well as by others. It was not true. As it turns out, both these young people were members of the International Solidarity Movement. They came to the Gaza to protest against terrorist home demolitions.

The picture distributed by the Reuters News Agency showed Rachel Corrie standing in front of the bulldozer with a megaphone. It appeared on page 3 of the New York Times on March 17, 2003. The caption stated that the picture was taken before Rachel Corrie was crushed by this bulldozer, giving the reader the distinct impression that Rachel Corrie had been standing with a megaphone in clear sight of the bulldozer. This would have shown that this act was a kind of homicide. The next photo showed Rachel lying in front of the bulldozer.

Then the author, David Bedein, my friend from Israel who I mention in my book, says that he began to notice something. The lighting of the Gaza sky was different in both pictures of what were supposed to be sequential shots. The landscape in each picture was different. He checked with Reuters who said the photos were not their pictures but were sent by the International Solidarity Movement. A check with the Reuters web site showed that they were labeled as Reuters pix. In checking with Joe Smith, David found out another unknown fact. Smith said that no one was on the spot with a camera before Rachel Corrie was fatally wounded by the bulldozer, and that the picture of her with the megaphone had been taken many hours earlier.

To make this short, this was an accidental death that was pictured as a homicide and act of cruelty. As it turns out, The International Solidarity Movement is a Palestinian group dedicated, in its own words, to "armed struggle" against Israel. I was more shocked than anyone when I had read this report, and was very much relieved to find out that once again, the reporting was slanted against Israel and was not true.

Foul Move! USA Trains Palestinian Security Forces

David Bedein uncovered facts that the USA spent $11 million dollars in training Palestinians belonging to Abbas's Fatah group in Jericho in Israel and in Giftlik in Jordan. In one year, since 2008 we have trained 2,100 troops which can make up four battalions in Jordan alone. There is even evidence that many are members of banned terror groups.

Abbas cannot lead Hamas. He has given up trying to lead Fatah. Why the USA has taken this chance on people who are so changeable is beyond me. We are just adding fuel to the fire to be used against Israel.

The PA forces are aimed at destroying their Fatah rival, Hamas instead of reducing terrorism. Their training may make matters only bloodier. Bedein explained to the Five Towns Jewish Times, that the reduction in terrorism is due to the 2002 manuever that the IDA took back Beit Jalla very quietly and without fanfare. They stopped the shelling. This was a reduction of terrorism from Judea and was part of the Operation Defensive Shield. They surrounded every possible Arab terror stronghold. Now that Palestinians are trained by the USA, what will happen?

This happened earlier with Yasser Arafat. He didn't get his own way in negotiations with Israel and American training was used against Israeli civilian targets. Doesn't the USA learn from the past? If you have a friend, why do we train their enemy in combat fighting? What kind of friendship is this?

If the Fatah Palestinians had been that friendly, helpful and supportive of Israel all along, I could see trying to support them in their endeavors to have a homeland next door, but that hasn't been the case at all. They are part and parcel brothers in mind and spirit with Hamas as far as I can see. Israel has suffered terrorist attacks from them right along. Their school have been teaching hatred towards Israelis just like Hamas. I don't trust them, and I don't think most Israelis in Israel trust them, either. It's a terrible situation with the thought of having a homeland for Palestinians on the East in Judea and Samaria and also another more volatile one in Gaza. It's just not workable. So why train the weaker soldiers to fight the stronger ones? They will only use their newly found skills on Israel. There's no love lost.

Peres Behind J. Street

President Shimon Peres is behind J Street claims David Bedein, my old friend from Safed. David is now a journalist who heads the Israel Resource Review. He's in Washington , DC to speak to congressmen. J-Street is a very liberal US Jewish lobby seen by many of us as anti-Israeli. It's trying to replace AIPAC.

J-Street is made up of all the leftist NGO's who are tying to restart the Oslo process. The Peres Center for Peace is behind the scenes. It moderated most of the discussions in their recent convention. Their aim is to get congressmen to support the Oslo process.

J-Street is promoting the idea that Fatah is a reliable partner for peace, and many of us realize it is not. They're for the Oslo way and establishing a Palestinian state even though there is no peace or acceptance of Israel or that Abbas has no say over Hamas in Gaza who would take it over.

Bedein will be explaining the situation with videos and books by the Palestinian Authority that show they are not moderates, but are militant and constantly inciting against Israel. There are congressmen who seek the truth. Bedein is speaking out at his own expense as the Israeli government is gun-shy about doing this. They may not even understand J-Street's damage they are causing Israel.

Some of these J-Streeters also need to see David's presentation and realize that they are on the wrong side of the street. We don't need our own people being bamboozled into looking through rose colored glasses and not seeing the oncoming traffic heading their way.

Fatah Showing True Colors

David Bedein, an old friend from Safed, Israel, writes from Israel that Fatah is not the peaceful ally one would hope for. They have again started their terror attacks against Israel. 250 terrorists involved in attacks in 2003 and 2004 had been pardoned by Israel. Today many are fighting Israel again, even encouraged by Fatah's leader, President Mahmoud Abbas.

They are taking advantage of Prime Minister Netanyahu's election and the world view being against him. In March and April they killed Israeli police and civilians. The USA has been training the Palestinian security forces, and these people are being recruited to attack Israel in turn. The Americans have been providing a "Senior Leaders Course," a 2 month program in Ramallah, overseen by Gen. Keith Dayton. They have had 80 graduates in two 40 student classes. Now they are also training Fatah commanders from the Palestinian National Security in Jordan in a 3rd class. There are 15,000 men in this group who police borders, get military intelligence, have military police services and provide presidential security. The Fatah security forces are still known as the al-Aqsa Brigades which have been defined by American law as a terrorist entity. Here we see that the US military is training them to be better warriors. The military is not following its own American laws.

I wrote several months ago that Fatah's ambitions were the same as Hamas; they just went about their goal in a different way. Here they are proving me right. We have already seen individual attacks from the West Bank on Israelis that were unbelieveable.

Mixed Messages About Iran's Nuclear Goals

David Bedein, my old friend from my Safed, Israel days, who was a community organizer and now is an important journalist based in Jerusalem, has reported that on Sunday, September 21st, the head of Israel's Military Intelligence turned in the first official report to the Israeli cabinet about Iran. They had come to the conclusion that all diplomatic efforts to curb their development of nuclear weapons had failed. Iran was well on the way to producing its first nuclear weapon.

JTA, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, didn't report this despite the fact that it is most important. Instead, they featured an article by the head of "Americans for Peace Now". It was titled, "Engaging in diplomacy with Iran is a sensible, responsible policy." This gives people the idea that diplomatic negotiations with Iran is possible.

"Peace Now" is funded by six European governments, including Germany, which has been very generous towards Israel. Germany's stand is that diplomatic and trade relations with Iran must continue.

Timing is of the essence. This article came out in time for the Jewish New Year deadlines of Jewish newspapers in North America. Equal time is not being given about the actual report to Israel's cabinet. People deserve to know what's going on, and they're not receiving all the information.
