Now this is a surprise to me: Keir Starmer's personal connection to the Jewish community is through his wife, Victoria, who is Jewish, and their children, who are being raised as Jews and observe Shabbat. While Starmer himself doesn't realize he is Jewish unless he's been baptized into another religion, he's Jewish if his mother was Jewish, but was raised in the Church of England, he is a strong supporter of the Jewish community, has vowed to fight antisemitism, and has a close personal relationship with Jewish culture and traditions. (He is not helping to stop anti-Semitism by helping or even praising Israel's enemy, Hamas.) Currently he is being an atheist. Starmer has spoken about his parents' family being Jewish and has publicly stated he respects the power of faith. (So he himself has a Jewish heritage ! ) It's too bad that he has nevertaken time to learn about it.)
- Points of Contention: Starmer has criticized some specific Israeli actions, such as a strike in Doha and plans to take over Gaza City, as "unacceptable" and "wrong". His government also recently blocked Israeli officials from attending a major UK defence trade show and has faced domestic pressure to end arms sales to Israel. The strike at Doha was pinpointed so that only 1 soldier was killed, and
- Trump talked him into apologizing to the President of Qatar. Doesn't
- Starmer keep up with the news? That was an expected strike.
- Condemnation of Humanitarian Crisis: Starmer has been highly critical of Israel's actions regarding humanitarian aid access in Gaza, describing the situation as a "man-made famine" and stating the world will not tolerate any more excuses for blocking aid. Israel has never blocked any aid. They have proof of Hamas doing so, even stealing the aid food and selling it to Palestinian civilians at high prices.
- Conditions for Palestinian Statehood Recognition: The UK has stated it will officially recognize a Palestinian state (likely in September 2025 at the UN General Assembly) unless Israel meets certain conditions, including agreeing to a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, stopping the annexation of the West Bank, and committing to a peace process. It has been Israel who has agreed to the suggested peace processes over and over again except the impossible ones of leaving Israel themselves in essense.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel has criticized a decision by Sir Keir Starmer to recognise a Palestinian state if Israel does not call a ceasefire in Gaza.
It just so happens that they had a cease fire that Hamas has kept breaking. They were warned by President Trump of the USA to stop breaking and shooting at the IDF or horrendous things would happen to them. Well, they tested one time too much and it happened. Israel shot back. I guess you can say that the ceasefire is not longer a sham. The Israeli PM said "Starmer rewards Hamas" and claimed a "jihadist state on Israel’s border TODAY will threaten Britain TOMORROW". Sir Keir said earlier the UK would recognise Palestine in September unless Israel agreed to a ceasefire and other conditions - he also called on Hamas to release the remaining Israeli hostages.

saying that they had "effectively said they want Hamas to remain in power".
He also accused Starmer, Emmanuel Macron and Mark Carney of siding with "mass murderers, rapists, baby killers and kidnappers". That's what Hamas'
moral compass has turned out to be, literally, noted on October 7, 2023.

Keir's condemnation of the Washington attack.
The word disproportionate makes my blood boil! Hamas allows or even
wants their people to be hit so that Israel gets a worse rap. Israel's population
is smaller than the Arab population of the Middle East. Israel runs about with
6 to 7 million Jews in Israel. Jews make up approximately 0.2%
of the world's population, with estimates of the global Jewish population around 15.8 million as of 2025. Hamas is constantly being fed terroristsfrom other places, so that there is no end to fighters against our IDF power. This is not being fought as in the ancient days of Britain in the1600's or 1700's. Update 9:26pm 11/3/25 Linking UK events to "weakness": Following a separate incident in the UK in October 2025, Netanyahu suggested that "weakness in the face of terrorism only brings more terrorism" after the UK government officially recognized a Palestinian state, linking it to a domestic security incident. Update from i24 11/4/25 ;i9:08am, (Israel) UK's Starmer now sanctions Hamas after Trump visit, and saw that they had recognized a Palestinian State. This move rewards terror, feels Israel.
