Israel Raids Iranian Ship Near Sudan

Nadene Goldfoot

Israel had to do what Israel has to do; raid another ship with weapons headed for Gaza's terrorists.  The fact that the ship, Klos C,  is Iranian didn't stop them at all.  It had an international crew of 17, now being interrogated.   Thirteen IDF commandos raided it off of Sudan early Wednesday morning.  This ship was disguised with a Panamanian flag and was carrying dozens of B-302 missiles with a range of up to 200 kilometers or 124.274 miles.

Last time Israel raided a ship was during the fleet of ships of May 2010, the Gaza Flotilla, which was  trying to break into the waters off of Gaza with heavens knows what as their cargo.  The ship, MV Mari Marmara,  was from Turkey, and this caused quite a roar with the end result of Israel having to pay Turkey a bundle for the death of a few of their 40 some crew  who attacked the 13 Israelis as they boarded to search the ship.  That's a tip-off right there that they weren't carrying dolls for the children or else why wouldn't they let the commandos search their ship like other ships in the fleet did?  .

Here's a case where the Iranian ship had a shipment originated from Syria.  The Syrian missiles, probably sent to Syria from Iran in the first place, were now taken on planes back to Iran, and then were repacked  on the ship to Sudan and were hidden with sacks of cement which is why Israel likes to search ships for weapons.  The captain of this ship first navigated toward Iraq and then finally toward Sudan in an effort to fool the IDF.

Evidently the Mossad was in on this as the IDF knew for sure that Iran was behind the shipment.  Our IDF are safe and guiding the ship to Eilat's port.  Israel knew that they were for Hamas, the terror group in Gaza. They were to be unloaded in Sudan and smuggled to Gaza through the Sinai.  There is a regional arms race with Iran in the lead.  The IDF will continue to act against such smugglers to secure the safety of the people of Israel.

Hamas Instigates Reconciliation with Fatah

Nadene Goldfoot
Khaled Mishaal, top Syrian influenced Hamas leader, attended the opening of the 8th Al Quds (Jerusalem) International Foundation Conference in Sudan's capital yesterday.  He is most happy about the fall of Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and of Tunisia's capitulation to the rebels as he thinks that this is a return to their natural state.  He said it  is the time for Hamas and Fatah to join together in jihad against Israel.

He wants to "liberate" Jerusalem from Israel and is planning a battle for it.  He didn't differentate about whether he meant the Eastern part or all of Jerusalem.  The meeting was covered by Jordan's newspaper.  Twenty-eight countries representatives attended.  One goal of this conference was to mobilize efforts to bolster the Palestinians in exposing Israeli plots, according to the organizer of the conference.

How will Fatah in Judea and Samaria react while they are now enjoying a measure of freedom of expression and a standard of living that is better than many of their Arab neighbors?  They have been fairly quiet about rebelling against Abbas.  A change to unite with Fatah might be seen as  being supportive of that political group instead of their own.  Do they really want to rock the boat right now?

Abbas's New Friend, Darfur's Genocidal Ruler

Nadene Goldfoot

Remember the genocide of Darfur? It started in Sudan in February 2003 and is still ongoing. 400,000 black Sudanese were killed by Arabs of the government. Who was the government? President of Sudan Omar Hassan Al Bashir was in charge. Sudan is the world's 8th most populated Muslim country. Its population is 43,939,598 as of July 2010 with 70% Sunni Muslims, 25% indigenous religions, and 5%Roman Catholics. 52% of the people are black. 39% are Arabs. Al Bashir runs an authoritarian republic.
Darfur is a very large (190,420 square miles or size of Spain) region of Sudan divided into West, South and North sections. It had been an independent Sultanate for about 200 years but was incorporated into Sudan by the Anglo-Egyptian forces.

Almost a year ago on January 9, 2010, Amnesty International proclaimed Global Day of Action for Sudan Awareness. They wanted to educate the public of the plight of the Darfurians so as to help protect them.

"A long-awaited referendum on southern Sudan’s independence, set in motion by a 2005 peace agreement to stop one of Africa’s worst civil wars, is scheduled for Jan. 9, 2011.
The vote could bring an end to the nearly one-million-square-mile experiment called Sudan, which for many troubled decades served as a bridge between the Arab and African world."
NY Times.

Abbas of the Palestinians just sent a letter to Al Bashir saying that he and his people have complete faith in his wisdom. He gives his personal support to him. The letter goes on to say that the Palestinian people stand side by side with their brother country, Sudan.

Al Bashir has been charged with murder, extermination, forcible transfer of people, torture and rape. He and his government are not nice people. This is who Abbas stands with and recognizes. This is his role model. This is scary, indeed. This is not the kind of man nor the kind of future neighbor that Israel wants or needs. Hamas is bad enough. Instead of wanting to emulate someone like the USA Canada, or even Jordan, Abbas picks the worst of the Arab regimes to align his future with.

Abbas has done other things, like take part in ceremonies revering terrorists who have been killed in action in ceremonies in the West Bank. He hasn't changed the goals of education but seems to keep them all hepped up to hate Jews.
