Olmert Resigning in September
The internet is full of the news that Ehud Olmert, Prime Minister of Israel, is resigning in September. He is bitter about the accusations made about him and had promised he would resign, though he states that he is innocent. Olmert is 62 years old.
Olmert was a former mayor of Jerusalem for ten years, from 1993 to 2003. He was elected prime minister from the Kadima Party. Kadima means forward in Hebrew. The two candidates from Kadima to run for prime minister will be Tzipi Livni, a woman, and Shaul Mofaz.

Getting Back Dead Soldiers
by Nadene Goldfoot
It's with great sadness to read the news that we are getting back two deceased IDF soldiers at such a great cost. In exchange we're giving the terrorists not only 200 of their deceased fighters, but 5 live terrorists, one of which is one of the most sadistic people I've heard about. It's too bad he isn't in the group of deceased. He broke into an apartment and took out a father and his 4 yr old daughter, then slaughtered the father in front of his little girl so that she witnessed such a horrid sight and then killed her by knocking her head into a stone, a brutal murder on both accounts. There was no call for this. These people were civilians. It was total rage and insanity. This Kuntar was sentenced to 548 years in prison, but is now released.
What's worse is that Hassan Nasrallah, the Hezbollah leader, had said that now he was more determined than ever to have a war with Israel, and promised more kidnappings unless the grissly murderer, Kuntar, was released, and he had kept his promise by kidnapping Regev and Goldwasser, which resulted in 2006 in the deaths of 163 more Israelis.
Kuntar has vowed to continue his vile acts of killing Israelis. His people are passing out candies in celebration, and determination that Israel is now weak. We didn't put an end to terrorism because we were holding this vile person. We've fed their mentality of retribution. We've gone the nth mile for even a deceased soldier. How will this protect any living prisoner they hold?

Gazan Trucker Asks Terrorists Not to Fire Rockets
by Nadene Goldfoot

Abu Shanab asked terrorists not to fire one rocket, knowing that means he and others will suffer economically. The Israel-Hamas truce has not been a peaceful one without rockets raining into Israel. They haven't stopped other terrorists from firing them. 15 rockets and mortars have been fired since June 19. Three mortars were fired on Tuesday, two days ago. This is why Israel cannot open the crossings when they wanted to.

When they have a day of calm, Israel adds more supplies to the basics it ships to Gaza. If a rocket is fired from Gaza into Israel, Israel reseals the border for a day. It's a trade-off. The result is like this: Israel added five truckloads of cows and 200 tons of cement to the basics for Gaza.

Israel feels that the terrorists are using the lull to rearm. Evidence of this is shown when Tuesday, in a Hamas training camp, two militants were killed in an "accident" during an explosion. They also found a shoppng mall was a Hamas front in the West Bank city of Nablus. They ordered it to be shut down.

Israel had shut down the Sufa crossing on Tuesday after a mortar shell hit them, then opened it again after some conversation with Ehud Barak, and then two more mortar shells were fired into Israel, but Sufa was open on Wednesday.

Gazans want more brought into Gaza, but they are doing little to stop shelling into Israel. They complain, but it's all in the hands of the terrorists, and they don't seem to care about the common man there, like Abu.

Palestinian Attacks in Jerusalem
An East Jerusalem worker on a light rail system turned terrorist. He took a tractor and rammed the 2 Egged buses, overturning one of them so that passengers had to be assisted out, cars and people, killing three and injuring 66 others. Evidently he was a member of the "Movement to Liberate the Galilee". Interestingly, Jerusalem is not a part of the Galilee.
He was shot dead by an IDF soldier, aged 18. that was on leave. This is the second person of late, who was a working Palestinian who went wild and killed Jews in Jerusalem.
